In 2018 NO joke I was making £15 to £20 per hour on uber eats then all of a sudden it went dead drivers everywhere with different people accounts none paying tax. Now you have to register for tax it could get good again as can't see people renting there accounts out. I just got my PCO licence cost £700 for the licence took 8 months thats if you pass as you only have 2 chances to pass the test or you have to do it all over again and pay again. parking permit car hire I'm down around £1400 and have £250 bills a week coming up lets hope it works out. I’ve been doing uber eats since September part time on n off and done over 650 deliveries(im platinum now) and honestly since December I’ve had enough of constantly waiting like a mug in the restaurants and Morrisons 🤣😂(named and shamed) passed my taxi test 2 days ago , already got my enhanced dbs and paid for my medical, my upfront costs so far are ; medical £49 DBS £95 (including subscribed to update service Taxi test £50 Now need to apply for my badge which is £92 for 3 years then plating not sure on cost of that yet and then of course insurance, it really ain’t that expensive and I’ve got a friend who shows me regular his daily takings on uber taxi and for 10 hours on uber eats approximately 22 deliveries I’m doing £100-£120 midlands based (DE13), my friend who is also based (DE13)will do the exact same hours and do £180-£230 biggest job I’ve ever had is £14 on uber eats like twice but majority of my jobs are £4-£7 multidrops 😂 uber eats I’ve had enough ☠️ My friend also said he will never work a local base again as people like to not pay or do a runner and moan about routes where uber the money is already sorted and so is the route. (Matty what’s your thoughts on money/payment uber or local base?)

Hi matt can you try to find out if Uber Eats and Uber phv uses the same mappings on both? The reason I'm asking is if they do this explains why SO many routes are INCORRECTLY shown for phv! For example we have many junctions in Leicester that all cars/minibuses etc cannot use unless youre a hackney vehicle. Its fking annoying as hell as some routes are priced for bikes in distance etc? Cheers if you can find out and do a video on this mate

Hi Matty I'm just waiting for my pco licence to turn up any day ..I'm currently a tipper driver ...but I'm 57 now and had enough...so going to do uber for the flexibility even if I'm worse off financially. Can't make my mind up on a hybrid or electric car keep hearing alot of negativity on electric

I think you are wrong Matty. Most of us really don't want to cancel. Yet on occasion Uber have overbooked jobs and I can't physically do all of them because traffic is bad. I have repeatedly told Uber that a road is closed due to flooding and they have continued to route me via the same non functioning route. Furthermore if a rider is theoretically 10 minutes away but the road is closed due to an accident, flooding etc then Uber start to warn me that I'm going to lose the booking.... My best option is to cancel and turn around..... The customer can end up in a situation where drivers with low cancellation rates cancel because the job is impossible! There isn't enough scope in the Uber app for the stuff that falls between the cracks. Uber would tell me to set off for jobs 30 minutes before a booking when I'm 50 minutes drive away. Luckily I don't trust their F'ing stupid AI.... Most of us are professional and give a toss but Uber sometimes treat us like rats in a maze? 😮

Hi Matty, you know the jobs that appear in the opportunities section? Generally throughout the day they appear there as pre booked jobs you can accept. I've not accepted any yet as it says you can accept other trip requests leading upto that one but my worry is that I might not make it back for that one and would be declining requests left right and centre in order to keep that trip. And I'd be worried about my acceptance rate. Have you ever gone for any of those requests? If so how did it work out? And I suppose I could just turn off new requests in the lead up?

Or it can simply be the Trip Radar bookings which give you virtually no time to assess the job. The driver cancels when he or she sees how bad the job is . Uber’s own fault in promoting that system.

My opinion is that this is all on Uber not the drivers. If multiple drivers are cancelling then there's a reason and it's usually pay. Uber has well and truly won the race to the bottom. Out of interest Did the passenger use "priority"? How many miles was it and what was your fare? I feel like uber could add a " priority plus" option to add, lets say a fiver, this would come in handy during peak times or when a customer is in need of an urgent ride. It's not ideal but uber has already turned the app to 💩. The way it's all gamed , drivers are doing what ever they need to to turn a profit and i for one don't blame them.

I refuse to use uber for this reason now, am sick off drivers accepting and then cancelling anything upto 5 minutes later.
