II. Christ is risen again The first fruits of them that sleep For seeing that by man came death By man also cometh the resurrection of the dead For as in adam all men do die. So by Christ all men shall be restored to life Amen.

This is quite possibly the best rendition I have heard. Such beautiful, crisp voices, perfectly balanced.

It's magic ! The sound is terrific and the coherence of the group is perfect. Thank you for all. Same question : where did you get the score of this arrangement ? Because, originally W. Byrd wrote this piece for singers and organ didn't he ? Thanks for your answer. T.M

I would very much want to use this particular rendition in my own work. What is your policy regarding this. It would be a KZbin video. Single use.

This organ sounds splendid, and I really enjoyed the stylish performance. Please could you tell me what the symbols P P O O XV D (visible at 0:42) on the side of the instrument refer to? Also, does this instrument have a second manual that slides out from underneath? (I am sure I could see a second row of keys coupled to the manual played on by Mr Wollston.)
@Tehinstrumentalist Жыл бұрын
I suspect they probably are shorthand for "Principal, Principal, Octave, Octave, 15th, doublette"
@danielpape8132 Жыл бұрын
@@Tehinstrumentalist Bit late, but Goetze & Gwynn the builders of the organ list "diapason" as the last stop. I assume that is what the "D" means. In this instrument it means a stopped wooden pipe at 10ft (The principals are 5ft). As for the upper manual, they say: "There is a second keyboard which can be folded down to give ‘singing pitch’ at F - d³, for demonstration purposes." If you want to know more just look up St. Teilo organ and you'll find it.

After listening to you, everyone should rush to the nearest store (online or offline) and buy your CDs! But it's such a great experience not only to hear you sing, but also to see you sing, that an audio recording alone can't satisfy you anymore. I really wish you would have put more video recordings online! The sad 872 views while I was writing this should not be a deciding factor. Unfortunately, the "true, good and beautiful" (Goethe) is perceived by only too few. If you record a 3rd CD, please, please make such recordings again or give some concerts to promote this project. By the way, you still owe us at least one Gibbons to live up to the name of the project. P.S. Which sheet music edition did you use for John Bull's 'Deliver me, O God'?
@orlandogibbonsproject58442 жыл бұрын
I'm really sorry that I have only just seen your very kind comment - I don't monitor this site often enough. Yes, we shall indeed be making a 3rd CD and in fact I am just starting on the major task of raising the funds for it (about £42k!) and if you feel like contributing, or know any friends who might, there will be a crowdfunding later this year. Please see the project website www.orlandogibbonsproject.com. And yes, we shall certainly be making more videos like these. Thank you so much for your interest. The edition of Bull's 'Deliver me' was made by Andrew Johnstone for this recording.
