John Bull Fantasia No. 16. Played by Silas Wollston on the St Teilo 'Tudor' organ made by Goetze and Gwynn. From the CD 'In Chains of Gold - the English pre-Restoration verse anthem, volume 2', recorded in January 2019 and to be released in late June 2020 on Signum.

I have had the pleasure of playing this organ myself during my time at Bangor University, if I remember I played the Coventry Carol. Great work of the builders and the performer!

This organ sounds splendid, and I really enjoyed the stylish performance. Please could you tell me what the symbols P P O O XV D (visible at 0:42) on the side of the instrument refer to? Also, does this instrument have a second manual that slides out from underneath? (I am sure I could see a second row of keys coupled to the manual played on by Mr Wollston.)

I suspect they probably are shorthand for "Principal, Principal, Octave, Octave, 15th, doublette"

@@Tehinstrumentalist Bit late, but Goetze & Gwynn the builders of the organ list "diapason" as the last stop. I assume that is what the "D" means. In this instrument it means a stopped wooden pipe at 10ft (The principals are 5ft). As for the upper manual, they say: "There is a second keyboard which can be folded down to give ‘singing pitch’ at F - d³, for demonstration purposes."
