Just watch the footage of when an 8 year old girl asked Buzz Aldren of why we haven’t gone back to the moon. Buzz was completely not ready for her question and accidentally admitted “we didn’t”. Google it and watch it for yourselves. Also, China, which can do pretty much anything and is developing technology far more advanced than the US, who builds empty cities just to do so, has not yet made a manned mission to the moon. If they could have or could now, they would, but even China cannot.

One reason, MONEY. Nasa has a fraction of the funding they had back in the Apollo days. But its not accurate to say we haven't been back, theres been missions to the moon but they were all unmanned. Artemis 1 did a flyby and other countries besides the US have sent things to the moon.

Temperature and hours of beeing out without protection. 4. No stars visible due to camera: no pilot remembered stars anywhere to be seen... 5. Rubber gloves in vacuum: see footage. How to press a button is impossible. 6. Orange juice on pictures. 7. Flying objects in videos and sound effects from hammering while on the moon. 8. Lift off video... 9. Why are you talking about what it would cost to return to the moon? How does a spacecraft that requires a 3 stage rockets to get to the moon return back to earth with such a low budget Apollo module? Who shot the video of the first spaceship landing on the moon and first step on the moon by a human and the lunar module taking off from the moon to return to earth when no humans were left on the moon, and how did they have better telephones reception from the moon to earth that transmitted voice and video better that what we have on earth today?

First, the mission is different. The earlier effort was tied in with the Cold War to not let the Soviets claim the moon as a platform. Second was a show of national superiority. This time it's for long term occupation, meaning building bases there, and exploiting resources, requiring different technical specifications. Lastly the budget isn't adequate for that goal.

@chasx7062 that's interesting. When China tried to invade them, they pushed China out. They had a successful moon mission, and an unsuccessful Mars mission. Meanwhile, the Orion program was around these last 20 years, but we aren't any closer to putting boots on the ground there, having been there 55 years ago. Reign that humongous ego in, dude.

"we forgot how to do it" is not a valid excuse. We're talking about tech that was allegedly developed in the 50's and 60's that includes vehicles that relied on computers with less computing power than a kids 1989 model pocket calculator to get them to the moon and back with razor sharp precision. I don't know why some people go out of their way to convince themselves and others that the moon landings actually happened as reported. It's blatantly obvious that it was faked for noble-ish reasons and it's not a huge deal to admit that

So applying Occam's razor to this question (why is it so much more difficult to get to the moon than it was in 1969?) you will ultimately arrive at this answer - because we actually didn't land humans on the moon in the late 60's and early 70's. Not because "the universe is unpredictable" or "well, it's complicated so don't ask" or my personal favorite "well, we actually just forgot how to do it". This video contains some of the most hilarious mental gymnastics I've witnessed in a long time and the dude (I think) is delivering it with as if he actually believes everything he's saying. That's highly unlikely
