Great video. I'm new to the industry and our economizer is in the stack above the boiler. It not only preheats the feed water coming into the drum it also cools the flu gasses expelled from the exhaust stack which is required by the EPA in my area.

Well yes, but to gain energy into the feed water - to heat the one the other must be cooled. That should be the main principle. Gainer a better efficiency :)

Good afternoon How do you feel about new technologies that are not similar to the current ones, based on a completely new principle of burning any fuel with clean emissions into the atmosphere?

I wondered how Yanks dealt with the temps of water in boilers, now I know. Celsius is so much easier

Obviously the design is lethally flawed. There is no redundant systems for system oil, solenoid valves, sensors, computers or power supply. The baltimore collapse should put this design in the garbage can. Ola

I had thirty years going to sea as a marine engineer, and everybody I sailed with would agree with me , we did not see one of those machines work correctly. They can be best described as a disgrace to the human race. A friend of mine perfected a system using three tanks and I think they turned over to that system.

This video is actually just one segment from a larger training video. And that video is part of a larger series of about 12 industrial training videos, all on steam boilers. The paper mill I used to work at had the whole series as required viewing for training in the utilities department. Good videos, I wish I could have digitized copies to keep.

Would you happen to know the name of the series? Trying to find more of these videos. This one is really good at explaining things so I assume the rest of the series would be very beneficial as well.

😮Soooo there is no reason why the source of heat can't be generated by induction technology! Makeing it very cost effective. Yet; I can not find induction tech heater systems?!! Why not? Hint Hint; this os a billion dollar idea! I don't give a flick who makes the money; I just want to be able to have one in my cold @$$ home!

Only missed using the term Generator tubes, the small O.D. numerous bank of tubes running from Steam Drum To Mud Drum which helps maintain correct levels of water in the Stem Drum and is plays a major role in early steam generation as well as the screen tubes, pulling double duty as the fire screen for the Superheater and having support clips to hold the rows of SH tubes in place while allowing for thermal expansion. There are also internals in the upper drum which direct steam to cyclone seperators to rid the steam of excess moisture before entering the superheater.
