I like to think Lesley would be pleased as punch to hear folk keeping her memory alive through this beautiful song and her others. I’m sad to say I haven’t recorded this one as yet although I have done a couple of Lesley songs in the past. I don’t think I will get time to do it this year but I will endeavour to fix that next year. Merry Christmas Sabine to you and yours.

Thank you so much, Joo! It's just a wonderful carol. I did it last year for the very first time. I had to film it three times because I kept welling up. The wobble was still audible in the version I uploaded (I ran out of time due to Christmas travelling). This year it's been warm feelings instead. I'm so grateful I get to sing this special song.

@@ukeanflute yes - agree - beautifully constructed song - so cohesive lyrically and put to a delightful if slightly melancholy melody - i like to claim some credit for its existence - it was written for a christmas song 'competition' i held a number of years ago - it was my 'winner' - it is my hope it will somehow find its way into the big wide world

It's a good song. It's a classic, but I think I heard it on the Seasons first. Brian (Pa) did a version and there have been many since. Paul (Dr Mitch) did it after the Tragedy of 666 before we knew we'd survive. Anyway, hopefully blue skies with a bit of cloud, and some thunder and lightning from now on. (We don'twant it too boring around SOTU, right?) Thanks for hosting, Bob. I've got to catch up with most of this week.

I'm getting more comfortable finding my home base position, which is clear progress. My teacher hasn't recommended a certain tutor or method book yet. I'm focusing on the pieces she gives me (currently Newsidler pieces). She also lets me work on the Lute Lessons for the Beginner in the Frank DeGroodt booklet Learning To Play The Lute. I also use the Renaissance lute tutor on the Norvis website. Good luck with your lute studies 👍

Но руку следует развернуть в этом направлении. 2. А большим пальцем вы как бы вес всей руки опираете на струну. И немножко внутрь деки.
