Sailing with friends is the way to go. We follow the Castaways and now we follow you. We're sailors too and have sailed the Bahamas, USVI, the keys and freshwater sailing in Lake Okeechobee where we started sailing about 40 years ago. You guys have fun, be safe and as the islanders say "give thanks".

@@SailStillwater we had a Catalina 27 Dilly Dally for 30 of those years but Ian demasted her and it was declared totaled by insurance. Our kids grew up on it and the loss really hit us hard. Keep posting your videos and take me back...

We are the type of people who come home from a vacation and have 4 photos, and we might be in 1-2 of them. Haha. So this is very new to us! We aren’t camera people, but thats part of our journey is to get over the fear… We are just to polite I guess! Haha, haven’t had anyone complain about our cameras yet, but we still feel bad! Haha

Hi Great video. Quick question- what time of year was that video taken as it appears there are less crowds around ? pubs are empty and anchorages not so busy ??

We spent a week in the Abacos in May 2023, and two weeks this year, the last 2 weeks in January. Both trips were comparable in regards to the amount of other boats. The water in the Bahamas in much chillier in the winter months, than it is further south in the BVI! Much colder! But both trips were great and so much less crowded overall! Well, it was in the video! But we decided the best tasting Painkiller was the cheap one. 3oz Sailor Jerry spiced rum 3 oz pineapple juice 1 oz Simple orange OJ 1 oz real coco

The most expensive was very rich! Almost too sweet. Probably from the stronger flavor of the rum. The cheapest one just tasted lighter. Still had a good flavor, but didn’t seem overly sweet. I think the rum was the bog difference. The Sailor Jerry didnt cover up the other flavors. Where the more flavor full rum did

@@SailStillwater I have been making these quite often. I cut the rum back to 2 ounces. Will probably make my own creme of coconut (coconut milk and sugar) in the future. The problem is they are almost too easy to drink and 2 of them is too much. I’m in vacation now and I had to buy a cocktail shaker here so I can make these in the condo.

I have Bareboat in Exumas, a lot in Puerto Rico, USVI and BVI's; I haven't sailed Abacos yet but, thanks to this video, this will be my next Bareboat family charter for Sure!!! Very Instructional, fun and pretty views! A Gem! Maybe you can do another one with the remaining footage, about personal experience, what to do and what to avoid! Things like that! Thanks Cap’n Irv! For watching and for the positive comment! Each destination brings so many different things to the table, but the Abacos definitely compete in terms of a charter destination. The Exumas and Spanish Virgin Islands are as well! We will be back in the BVI in November (first time in a few years), so we are looking forward to it! We have recycled the Abacos footage about as much as we can creatively! Haha, but we both work two jobs and try to head towards blue waters as much as we can! So bare with us, we are still new and learning. But will keep putting out videos as long as people get entertainment out of watching them! Thanks again! Cheers! Brian and Jillian

I have sailed in the Abaco area for over 10 years, I hit almost every spot you do, I think it is way better than the BVI, calmer, easier, and tons of great places to just drop anchor and chill,,, My favorite place was Treasure Cay, however still not recovered from Dorian, but I heard just recently sold and hopefully coming back. Plan to retire shortly and give the Exuma's a grand tour!

If you like a BVI like experience, the Abacos are good. But if you like finding a million dollar beach with no one in sight, go to the Exumas or even more so, the Ragged Islands in the Bahamas.

We were a bit confused by the above comment by Berry Angry so we chose not to reply. The entire video showed our dog being spoiled! Sleeping in the many beds we have made throughout the house for her, and even in our own bed! Yet, someone feels to negatively comment implying how we mistreat out dog by seeing she was sleeping outside (in the shade), for one small portion of the video! 😂 some people just want to troll! We know the the truth! And so does our spoiled Basset! 🕺🏻
