11 years later, and I'm watching, and appreciating, this video. I was gifted a filoFAX Personal Organizer a couple of months ago, and really thought I would never use it, because I'm not 100% comfortable with rings. I WANTED to use it, but couldn't decide on a set up. It was as if it offered too much freedom. Finally, I took a bound planner that I enjoy using, cut the cover off, clipped the signatures apart, and hole-punched the pages. It's my new 2025 place to be!! This video has me wishing Santa will bring a Mini Malden. I'm currently using a passport holder that size, with a travelers notebook type set up. The tiny rings give me all the happy feelings, though!!

Can I use slightly larger sheets in the personal Filofax? I really like the cover size, but I would prefer slightly larger sheets

I have been lucky to find multiple filofaxs in charity shops all for a few pounds each i have 12 and am using them as junk journals , glue books .and writing in them i adore them all.

The A4 organisers don't accomodate US letter sized paper, but DIN A4, which belongs to the international standard (ISO) paper sizes. The A4 is exactly twice as big as the A5. In fact, if you cut down an A4 piece of paper by half, you get two A5. One of the advantages of the ISO sizes is that each size in the series is half the previous one, and all of them (4A0, 2A0, A0, A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, A9, and A10) have the exact same proportions, which allows for scalling. Each size is 70% the previous one, so that you can use a copy machine or a printer and scale an original 70% to get it printed in the next smaller size.

I don't use leather, and it is so hard to find non-leather planners other than plastic ones. Looking for a compact small, wallet-sized vegan leather or non-leather planner (not plastic). I use the personal size as I can tell by your explanation but the pockets on mine are very similar to the pockets on the compact ( except the zippered pocket)but mine has pretty large rings so does the person come in different pocket designs.

With Filofax vintage is the way to go. A Winchester from the 80th or a Kensington from the 90th. Form the current models, the Chester is nice but pretty stiff. But even better are Japanese brands like Knox.
