Are the PCM's interchangeable between trucks with automatic and 5-speed manual transmissions?
@safetyfirstintexas2 жыл бұрын
a 5/8" piloted or 3/4" piloted 1.25" cutter will cut the spindle down without any sparks. just use a 1/2" drill.

I would think a dremel with a good cut off wheel would do a better job.
@latrogeniwile585 жыл бұрын
This helped me immensely. Although my Suburban was a little different, I was able to do the job. I found the "set timing" wire, under the dash near the ECM, or Bypass* signal for the techs, had corrosion on the connector and war wreaking havoc. ~~Under the dash, one wire connector, green corrosion.~~ Let that sink in. Anyway I had to disconnect the harness, cut away some tape and "unleash the Bypass* brown wire with black stripe from the harness in order to cut out the connector and solder on some new wire length. I made it about a foot long for easy dressing later. Used a wire nut instead of connector. This seems to have fixed 90%+ of the gremlins I've been fighting for months.

This is classic! This must have been equipped with a Kohler Command single cylinder engine. I have a few of these older Commands and pretty much run them full throttle with a governor bypass. They just scream for hours at a time but keep on running and running. A lot of engines won't put up with this but the Command single cylinders take running wide open like this in stride!

you can use those little 3 inch metal cutoff wheels and an arbor chucked into a drill and cut that off pretty quick.
