I know you mean well. In fact, there are hardly any explanations of this camera and its functions online. But then you don't know most of the functions either. How much time is lost in your video because you have to think about what is what, then you realize that you never use this or that function anyway. And the viewer is just as smart as before. The difference between gross and net in this video is really striking. A little more preparation would have been really nice for the viewers. So we basically have to do the preparation with you, and that takes time. The knowledge gained, at least for me, was extremely poor. What a pity.

Just click the shutter button to put it into auto, then click the gain button to put it into auto, then click the iris button to put it into manual. You can control the iris with the smallest ring. Its really about technology. The H6 is old tech at this point. I will never buy another audio recorder that doesn't do 32 bit float just because the tech exists now. I use a Zoom F3 and a Zoom F6 these days for recording, but the H6 still comes in handy to record room tone for band performances using the built in stereo mic.

@GeorgeNiksch Жыл бұрын
Idk. Have to ask Sony I guess.
@_jellone23 күн бұрын
Firewire sadly has a different kind of data transfer, it cant be converted as firewire afaik sends out dv datasets and not video footage. One technically possible way to go tapeless via firewire without getting the hvr/fs5 recorders would be to set up raspberry pi's with a pci connected firewire port. Then you'd need to write software to read it out to then safe it on the device. This would set you back 150$ and a couple months of designing this thing as it does not exist lol This phone method is, imo, the cheapest and most convenient way to go tapeless. Have tried it and it works like a charm on most dv-cams

You should have a cable for the AV port that goes to rca. It’s like a headphone jack to the white and yellow rca connections. If you don’t have the cable then search for one on Amazon. Just use wind filters if you record outside…Mics with foam over them block the wind noise. You could also just treat the room with cardboard and moving blankets.

@GeorgeNiksch2 жыл бұрын
A condenser mic like the B2 is not ideal for wind noise. You might be ok if you get a wind muff for it, but ideally you would use a dynamic mic like the Shure SM57 with the A81 windscreen on it. I have since purchased two of these mics and windscreens and they work great outdoors. They're also relatively cheap mics.

@GeorgeNiksch2 жыл бұрын
Yes. It is a better capture if you are using a FireWire cable from a mini DV tape. But Hi-8 (what I was using) can only be captured or played via RCA. Hi-8 is a lower quality than mini DV. But at the end of the day, if you are going for the low quality aesthetic then who cares? I have clips I filmed in 4k and skaters have screen captured them so many times that it looks worse than Hi-8. I really don’t think quality matters in the skateboarding community unless you are filming for a huge sponsor with like Ty Evans or something.
