Nice work! What microphone did you use? So I have a behringer b2 microphone. I dont have a recording booth though. Would it be bad recording outdoor with just the mic?
@GeorgeNiksch2 жыл бұрын
A condenser mic like the B2 is not ideal for wind noise. You might be ok if you get a wind muff for it, but ideally you would use a dynamic mic like the Shure SM57 with the A81 windscreen on it. I have since purchased two of these mics and windscreens and they work great outdoors. They're also relatively cheap mics.

I am thinking about recording vocals outside to remove nasty reverberation and resonances from a bad room, but this brings some other problems to the table. 😃 Maybe if there is no wind or life, like on Mars.
@GeorgeNiksch Жыл бұрын
Just use wind filters if you record outside…Mics with foam over them block the wind noise. You could also just treat the room with cardboard and moving blankets.

It's weird how Zoom has so many different sample rates and bit depth on their products. The R4 appeals to me for 48kHz and 32 bit floating point. No concerns about clipping with the latter
@GeorgeNiksch9 ай бұрын
Its really about technology. The H6 is old tech at this point. I will never buy another audio recorder that doesn't do 32 bit float just because the tech exists now. I use a Zoom F3 and a Zoom F6 these days for recording, but the H6 still comes in handy to record room tone for band performances using the built in stereo mic.

How to record outdoor? just use everything you can think of all at once that should work!
@GeorgeNiksch3 жыл бұрын
We only used 3 Microphones. There were a few extras I had just in case, but I didn't end up using them in the mix. Its all about wind management and mic placement.
