Wow 10 years is a long time and I’d like to thank you Konsti for this trip report. BMIBaby always put their adverts on the evening news and I remember watching it every night. I loved flying with them and thank you for the memories even a decade after their demise. Thank you and please keep making these amazing trip reports.

Once ravaged by war; look where Vietnam is today. Just proves the work ethic that leads to economic success of a nation........(My nephew experienced co-piloting A320's for a short-term fill-up for Bamboo and thought Vietnam was amazing.)

Totally agree with You. Vietnamese have worked very hard to progress despite the cruel war with America 🇺🇸 but they have since moved on and no one seems begrudge about the past. All the best to your nephew too! 🙏♥

I love going to Vietnam with Vietnam airlines the flight attendants are so polite and amazing the plane is stunning in total Vietnam airlines has a rating from me of 10/10

Air Asia X will resume it flight to Europe againt.Now they will use Air Bus A330-900 neo.Maybe in 2020 or 2021.Depending on aircraft delivery from Airbus

@@MoizAsad www.seatguru.com/airlines/Etihad_Airways/information.php 67D Aisle seat has extra legroom you you don't want window seat, if you do want a window seat, any seat after 69A-82A / 69K-82K, they are away from the wings. Ultimately 76A/76K has a window view and extra legroom too, not sure you'll be able to reserve Free of charge, but give it a try, Have a great journey this Saturday!

My longest flight was from London Heathrow airport to Sylhet Osmani airport which took 10:30hr and I was dying of how long it was, however people can cope with 12:00hr flight.

Hi Les, i personally recommend Vietnam Airlines, they are improving quite nicely in the past 10 years, now a 4-star airlines, on par with Thai Airways and better than British Airways. If your Thai Mrs is travelling from Bangkok, it will of course take longer to reach the UK, i assumed you are from the UK. Usually connections will be in either Saigon/ Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi the capital. The best connection will take the whole journey from Bangkok to London Heathrow in 18 HOURS 45 mins, including transit time 3 hours in Saigon. A direct one-way flight from Bangkok to London is roughly £360 with Thai Airways. If you can book a Vietnam Airlines ticket for a much cheap price, I say go for it. Alternatively, try Norwegian Air via Stockholm or Copenhagen, one-way from £200, but you need to pay extra for check0-in luggage and meals.
