I remember my graduation from high school back in 2012. Those few days in February were maybe the best days of my life, for sure. And I loved the formal pram a year before graduation! First, I was of course scared of the dancing, but it turned out to be so much fun. Thanks for the video, it really brought up some memories.

Well I did mine in a different school but still... The senior's last day (and throwing away candy) is kind of one more time and good bye childhood. They are about 18 after all. There's also the aspect of feedback/gifts to teachers. Because... they don't grade us anymore. The grand exams are graded by a special nation-wide committee.

We actually managed to get one of our teachers fired/retired during high school by complaining that he was not a qualified teacher and that we were not satisfied in his teaching. It did include our headmaster, among other teachers, come and observe some of the classes he was teaching. Ok I just keep repeating the word "teacher/teaching" so I'll stop here :D
@hcacalgary8 жыл бұрын
+lassipls was it because you didn't like them or because he was hindering your learning?
@lassipls8 жыл бұрын
+Derek Henson he was a really nice and polite teacher, but he wouldn't even remember what we did last time and didn't have a plan ready for each of his classes, so he constantly had to consult us on what we should do next. I guess he never took any notes during the class, he just kinda showed up in time and stood there for the 45 minutes. My high school shared our facilities and staff with junior high students, because we only had around 60 high school students there, so the teachers did have a wider range of education which to cover. All this happened 4 or so years ago, so can't really recall any details about it. And I just woke up and am writing this half-asleep on my phone at bed, so I'm kinda just slapping words together hoping for them to make any sense.

Great video :) Makes me wish I were in Finland. You look quite Finnish, but sound very Canadian. Did you ever manage to learn any Finnish? I've managed to get to a conversational level, but that's the most difficult thing about Finland. I think in the US, we need more of those yield signs, especially in the country when there's not a person around at the four way. No one ever fully stops anyway.

I have no Finnish roots at all. I started studying Finnish when I first arrived (I had been there previously and had learned a few words and phrases). I was taking night classes but the hockey team I was coaching started having games the same nights as my classes so I fell behind and couldn't keep up. I was very disappointed but speaking English in Finland is very easy. Not all Finns can speak English but almost everyone understands it.
@mauno4427 жыл бұрын
Derek Henson Yeah, even a 12 year old can really speak English very well and understand ya.
