Califonians ruining another small town. Dont they get people livein places they like and don't want changed? Then big city ideas and money come in. Please go back to LA, and San Fran. Locals really do not like you. You don't know how to hold doors, say please and thank you, drive like jerks, entitlement issues. These are the same people who come in and get elected, then think its a good idea to let the homeless run the streets, until locals complain enough. The people making the laws in this town are not from here they just don't get it.

Everyone i have talked to is moving out of Oregon. This coming spring.i had to move back to Florida.it has hurricane's but every day is a hurricane in Oregon due to not so smart higher ups

Great vid! I have a couple questions as I'm likely moving to Bend this spring. If you were at the extreme west end of town, how long would it take to drive to the extreme east side with normal traffic? Also what you said about the tourism being mostly on the west side is good info. I've lived in S Lake Tahoe and that was the biggest negative to me the amount of traffic differences due to the tourists - which some days would be pridictable and other days not. You also mentioned the cost differences in rent being different for east and west sides of town. For example what is a one bedroom apartment cost on the west side vs. a one bedroom apartment on the east side?

Hey Joshua, great video! I've been telling some friends about your channel hopefully its helping build the channel. I'd say I'm moving to Bend for a better quality life. I've yet to find a 'cheaper' place to live being a 'better' place to live. I think the cost of living can be relative. From my research it seems like you usually get paid more when the cost of living is higher in an area. I am self employed so I set my rates, and my rate is based in part on cost of living. Expensive cost of living implies a wealthier population which usually equates to better business and getting paid more as a result. Btw, gas in Bend is cheaper than SLC!

Trump screwed the middle class with SALT. It impacts Oregon due to its income tax combined with higher than average property taxes. Single person cannot write off more than $10,000/year in property and state income tax from their income. And don’t wait for rates to come down to the 3’s over 4s unless we have another pandemic or catastrophic national event that freezes up the market and employment growth. Under a normal market we can expect rates to be in the low 5s.

An Extra 25k would help a little bit, but that doesn't make a huge dent on the monthly payment which is still ridiculously high in bend relative to local wages.

@@arapanasati thanks for watching!! And actually a 25 k credit vs taking a price reduction can reduce rates by quite a bit. We recently negotiated a 4.5 percent seller credit which is right about 25 k and got them a 5.1 percent rate!! We are always looking for the best deals for our clients!! But I agree with you our wages are not keeping pace with prices!!
