Excellent video. I myself, like you was thinking that it was something more complex. I just got a new Toro PP for Christmas from my kids. While it cuts and mulches very nicely, I'm disappointed with the Personal Pace on this one. My yard has a steep terrace out front and the side yard is on a bit of an incline as well. It won't climb the terrace unless I really push hard to help it along. Even on the slight grade of my side yard it will stop traveling if I hit a patch of tall grass. I did adjust the cable a 1/4", that did help but still not good. I'm gonna give a little more adjustment next time I use it and see if it is corrected. Possibly the belt needs to be broken in. It must be made out of some tough stuff to hold up under the constant slipping. As you pointed out the torque reaction of the transmission works against you and reduces the torque to the wheels just when you need it most. Probably why it won't climb my terrace. There is also the drive side of the belt pulling increasingly forward on the transmission as the load increases, adding to that effect. Another thing on this new one is that the slide handle has to travel around the curve of the newly designed handle bar, requiring more effort than the old straight design. I have a 30 year old Toro PP at my other house and it seems to work fine, although there are no steep hills there.

Luckily you don't have the 1988-90 3 year run of the 3800 LN3 (3800) pre stage 1/ I'm on the 4th try of changing the thermostat and this time (so I can see what I'm doing), on my O-ring around the, "1", bolt thermostat housing, hose inlet. I'm taking off the throttle body &egr valve and connections and the throttle body and all other stuff stopping me from pulling the throttle body. I took a break, when I go back out there, I should have a clear vision shot of what I'm doing like you do with the 2 bolt housing of your thermostat change. I think or know I either damage or split the O-ring and can tell till it leaks. To top that off I broke off on of the nylon/plastic pipe nipples of the vacuum conn/ block that gets vacuum from the intake manifold from a cut out in the bottom of it and it deliver Vacuum to 5 things. there are none for sale so I will be traveling to a junkyard that has a LN3 from 88-90 year, to get a used plastic thing.

My gauge cluster (rpm&speed) looses signal and the CEL ; U0100, P0700,P0008, Service power steering, stabiliTrak, traction control all come on. Plus It won’t let me restart engine for 5 mins. I changed the negative cable w/GM and was fine for 2-days. But now it’s all back 😢

I just had those codes on my 2014 Cruze Diesel, but feels like the motor locked up... Couldn't turn the pulleys by hand, couldn't start. The starter would engage, but wouldn't turn the car over. Sounded like a stuck motor, not a dead battery. Battery light is not on either.

Good Video. I've done these on this type of personal pace toros ans Hondas. But I'm working on a 20092 with the Rocking Key in the drive wheels and can't get this mower to move. The belt is brand new and tight, and all parts in the drive wheels look good. The only thing I can think of is thr transmission is slipping or worn out

Make sure that you installed the drive pinions on the end of the axle correctly. If reversed you'll get no drive.

Great video! I recently repaired the carb on a 6 HP Tecumseh [vertical crankshaft] engine. On this engine, the carb is mounted tightly to the engine. Fuel inlet has a 90-degree bend, rather than straight, as your engine. To access the bolt heads which mount the carb, I had to remove the muffler for access to those bolts. My carb is one with a plug over the fuel mixture screw area. If available, a small ultrasonic cleaner works better for cleaning the carburetor. It gets into all those tiny passageways and cleans them out perfectly. It will also make the carb's exterior look like new.

Why did you leave off the clamp on the wire next to the left bolt, is that some type of ground? Why Do you have to use air, can't I just put the thermostat in with out that process? Thank you
@garyjhammen Жыл бұрын
Good overall explanation. There is also a small hole in the bowl nut that commonly gets plugged. Sometimes it’s in the threading. A small bread tags wire can be used for cleaning this out. Just strip the plastic off the wire. It’s a perfect size for the hole.

When did tecumseh start using the garbage metric sizes on their engines? I have never used a 9 mm wrench or socket on any fastener. The bowl nut is half inch and other 2 are 3/8 inch and 11/16 inch.
