I just read about this in Holly George-Warren's bio of Chilton called "A Man Called Destruction". Thanks for sharing. And I highly recommend the book.

the fact this was recorded in 2004 is probably why Henry Flynt doesn't appear here since his 1966 punk recordings were only released in 2004, but he's another great NYC musician who paved the way for punk - he made those recordings with his band "The Insurrections" after getting guitar lessons from none other than Lou Reed himself, would love to see him mentioned in an updated version of this an amazing song by him is "Uncle Sam Do" with punk lyrics that would have fit in the '70s-80s scene

ngl, i don't care too much for the rest of Event Horizon, but I'm in love with this song. The intertwining vocals during the chorus are gorgeous, and the lyrics are so sweet..

David Peel used to play at Zuccotti Park a bunch... I'm not sure if I knew who he was at the time tho I'd definitely heard this song by then... but I remember him playing I like Marijuana. I wish I'd recorded his sets.

Yes, it's a tell-tale like piece of randomness yet endearment of Americana or something. A picture like this one invokes many thoughts and reflections.

She’ll come back I know Cause our love is more real (More real) I tripped or fell down, but I found myself In a patch of new grass And my face couldn’t see Cause I fall on green and I laid on my back I could see the sky, and my face couldn’t see Cause I fall on green and I laid on my back I could see the sky He could see, I can see the sky If my love was here, she could testify She could feel it, too Tell me if it’s true: if this is more real Than life itself I tripped or fell down, but I found myself In a patch of new grass I wonder if there’s time (I wonder if there’s time) If I go find her, she didn’t go for long She’ll come back, I know, I wonder if there’s time If I go find her, she didn’t go for long She’ll come back, I know, I wonder if there’s time If I go find her, she didn’t go for long She’ll come back She’ll come back, I know If my love was here, she could testify She could feel it, too Tell me if it’s true: if this is more real Than life itself She’ll come back I know Cause our love is more real More real than life itself I tripped and fell down [Unintelligible] She’ll come back I know Cause our love is more real Cause our love is more real than life itself Than life itself

Tripped and fell down* 'Cause of all the green* Go fuck yourself in a picture, fuck yourself in a photograph* So he is studying a series of pictures, reminiscing about running around a lawn and tripping in a patch of new green grass, and as he turns over he sees a bright blue sky. (These two colors dominate the album cover. ) She gets down on his ground level, and they see the sky together. He posits that he loved her, and that if she were with him nownshe would confirm their love is more real than life itself. As he shuffles through the pictures he sees an edgy candid shot of her flipping him off, and remembers how ultimately estranged he is from her, and how it ended, because she is not there.
