Jeffrey and Jack Lewis - The History of Punk on the Lower East Side

August 26, 2004 I recorded this live in my apartment in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Performed entirely by Jeff and Jack Lewis aside from the synth on the Silver Apples song which was played by me.

the fact this was recorded in 2004 is probably why Henry Flynt doesn't appear here since his 1966 punk recordings were only released in 2004, but he's another great NYC musician who paved the way for punk - he made those recordings with his band "The Insurrections" after getting guitar lessons from none other than Lou Reed himself, would love to see him mentioned in an updated version of this an amazing song by him is "Uncle Sam Do" with punk lyrics that would have fit in the '70s-80s scene

David Peel used to play at Zuccotti Park a bunch... I'm not sure if I knew who he was at the time tho I'd definitely heard this song by then... but I remember him playing I like Marijuana. I wish I'd recorded his sets.
