Thanks, yes i'm alway interested in creating a new series. I have modified quite a few of my 8 wide cars already, often just small mods to fix a small issue with the original or improvements that i think are needed to make it more accurate to scale. Usually I make a video of the ones i change. that said most of my cars are still in their original form.

The 8 wide speed champions have already gone a long way with great shape and details. But agree a little bit bigger gives you more scope to add details. The limitations are usually the wheels available but with custom 3D wheels and tyres perhaps this is not such as big an issue as it used to be

Thanks, yeah I need to finish it. It’s just one piece that’s causing an issue in part designer. I need to add a two stripes that match the rest, but for some reason it doesn’t work properly. Super frustrating

Nice collection, and well displayed, unlike mine which is more like a wreckers yard. Good to see you give other brands a go, I recently purchased an Anko SC style car from Kmart and I have got to say they are very good and cheap.

Love all the garages and displays, truly amazing to see such detail and great way to display the cars, I'd love to see that F1 scene finished, definitely has the potential to be great! Also that classic ferrari moc looks great

Have you had any discolouring on the Saturn V set? I was thinking of purchasing it, but after searching online for it i saw a few negative reviews about discolouring while in sunlight.

No it’s not bad, it’s never in direct sunlight though. I did have some problems with other sets that got too much sun so I moved my Lego room to another room away from direct sunlight

@@speedybrick That’s good. I’ve got my Concorde on a top shelve that’s not in direct sunlight but it’s grabbing some from time to time at the nose, haven’t had any discolouring yet, but i’ll probably take a look at buying the Saturn V in that case.

I changed the dash board a bit so the legs of the figures go under the dash now as head room was a bit tight.

Good idea, I don't put the minifigs in the cars that often. The minifigs are really too short for the 8 wide Speed Champions scale.

I like option A! But i am biased toward bbs snowflake style wheels. Great video and what an amazing MOC! These designers are so incredibly talented!

Thanks, yes i like option A as well, but i might have another home for them 😀. Yeah these guys have some great skills. It's been a lot of fun to meet them and build some of their designs. Hopefully this is just the start of the adventure.

For the choice of wheels I would go with C wheels for a cleaner look. (For a stock car)

Yes but they are not expensive. Most of the parts are pretty standard black and light blue grey but you might want to swap the sand blue for another colour as they can be harder to get. You will also have to buy the sticker sheet,

I'm also curious what your thoughts are on the brick built A pillars and no windscreen. I've always had a pretty heavy opposition to that build method because it looks a little too much like a shrunken technic model and at this scale it looks too piece mashy or skeletal. This model doesn't actually bother me as much. I know a lot of MOC designers go for that method to get a more accurate silhouette but they just don't blend well with other speed champions in my eye

My preference is a windscreen as well but then you still have to add a sticker to represent the A pillar. I don’t think Lego have the right angled windscreen to use though. I will have to check

i agree with that too but in some situations the brick built pillars lend themselves better to the overall silhouette of the car. Typically brick built will look better and will prevent the repetitive look of re-using the same windscreens. The roof and pillars can sometimes be the hardest part of a car, and its a satisfying challenge to complete as you get a unique look if done right

I really like the look of the A wheels with the car design itself, I think it lends to the look. That said, the B wheels appear to be the most accurate to the source material.

buy another set and instead of yellow or purple you replace with blue bricks use the same copola or glass and you make a new video

Looks great. But to be honest, I don't get this obsession with people wanting to open up the engine cover or hood with this model. The only flaws this Ferrari has is the lack of headlight covers and the ridiculously narrow side windows. But for some reason with this model people just can't seem to stop there and have to change the whole thing into a Bburago model. I don't see anyone go through the same lengths for any of the other Speed Chanpions cars. To be clear, I'm not knocking the work here, because the end result looks fantastic but I just don't get the obsession with people completely rebuilding this specific car.

Agree the F40 looks awesome as it is. But I really like the open car as well. Of course it doesn’t work with most of the speed champions cars.

Looks great, I will try these mods out later. I think mods extend the play value, as a lot of SC models are used for display and this mod allows you to display it how ever you want.

It is a really nice set minus the color scheme/livery. It may be appropriate for a kid but for an adult it is really too flashy 🎉 My greatest disappointment is the tail lights that are not printed but still stickers in 2024. At 27.00 retail it is kind of pricy for not having those as printed.

I just got this set and the f40 yesterday and I’m waiting to build them. Will hang on a little while probably to build a little more anticipation. These sets look really good. The 6wide blue car went 8wide a long time ago (as I don’t like 6wide. To me they look wrong). When I put some photos up I’ll photo the two of them together. I just have to finish some other builds first which will be up soon! Happy building. Really like the videos, keep up the good work!😀😀😀

I’m looking at doing some of his upgrades to the f40. I’m at the moment building a black variant of it and have done a headlight cover for it but it uses an illegal technique (it’s glued) but it looks really good. Just waiting on a bricklink order for the last bits. That interview sound really good. Will definitely be waiting for that. Will be putting up photos of new builds later today on the groups (although I’ve had to leave one group I was with as the kept removing some of my pictures for some reason?)

not related to this set but i really wish we got more sets like the countach or f40. people seriously loved the white countach and i just wish we got more supercar ICONS like the murcielago, zonda or an 8-wide bugatti maybe. those cars are much more iconic than some of the recent cars (i don’t know anyone who couldn’t live without a lego SL 63 for example😭)

Great review! I had paper bags in the two copies I found here in Australia. FYI the F40 logo was only stamped on the right-hand side of the spoiler. Those custom wheels look great! One of the things I've been able to fix is the see-through doors.
