I think I would still prefer a recorder because I can use internal gain or compressor . Or rode usb for it’s software , because you can program it and save settings inside the mic

I’m curious about using these mics on acoustic instruments. I don’t like the honkiness of SM57s and as a cellist/sitarist, I always find it annoying when the sound guy’s like “ah an acoustic instrument, I’ll just whack a 57 on it”

the stereo channels, perversely, only come up in mono in the aux channels on the desk because they get summed into mono on each aux pot. Also the musician head phone feature is in mono and the l/r injection is in mono. It’s a bit misleading. It’s probably fine if you’re using wedges but a deal breaker if you’re using in ears. You can use the subs as stereo monitors but obviously it’s post fader. But the pre amps are very nice in this desk. It sounds great
