Give her credit, at least her pronunciation of 'Continente' is close, yours of "Pingo Doce' is embarrassing! Especially for someone who lives there full time. I am not Portuguese, I visit Portugal a few times a year and my understanding of the language is limited and not even at an A1 level; but at least I know the correct pronunciation of Pingo Doce.

It's a more vibrant city with new people minus the people it displaced. It's like foreigners showed up and bought what was of great value for cheap, the long time Lisboetas were told to take a hike.

They have that Porto too. Today, as I tried to pick up a package from a store in the Trindade station, I was forced to listen to someone badly playing Rush E. I have played the piano myself before (Chopin and Beethoven, like a civilized person), but after having to listen to that for two minutes while I stood in line, I thought that it was definitely a mistake and should be removed immediately.

it amazes me that you both live in lisbon and still don't know how to pronounce pingo doce. if i moved to dublin i think id learn how to pronounce their biggest market chain.
