Do you think like me, far too many business sellers are using multiple private accounts to avoid tax and fees? eBay profits must have taken a massive dip ever since they brought ''managed payments'' and the big one in ''Item Specifics''. I've been a private seller since 2008 selling far less than £1000 a year, sometimes less than £500 a year, eBay is not a bit like it was back in 2010, I will remain a private seller as no way in this world could I ever make a living off eBay I have less than £300 in sales since April 2024.

EBay is the 9th ring of hell for sellers. They are trying to put on airs that they are a merchant like Amazon but what they really are is a glorified Garage Sale! If I had a garage sale in May and say i sold a hedge clipper “as is” and a dude buys it than uses it all summer long then Nov 1st he is banging on my front door demanding I give him back his money because he is not happy ..I would slam the door in his face! But eBay would give him his money back: this is what EBay does now they allow this kind of shenanigans!

Why on earth don't you pop some heating in that room s to be worth it as you're in it more often than not.

This is why i do daily withdrawals.I stick to selling high dollar expensive items locally cash and carry and nothing over $100 on fee bay.

Have you considered selling some of the lower value items on one of the big UK facebook groups like BGT&C? You don't need detailed photos and no fees other than paypal.

SKU should be an excellent tool for business sellers on ebay, but it’s a pile of fucken shite. (when the twats haven’t buried it again) SKU needs to be easily found and FUCKEN searchable from the FUCKEN ebay app. i use my ebay phone app when i’m in my stock room, in my storage unit or my retail store, i do not want to drag my laptop there. I’m mostly raging because we get shit new “features” like AI , Q&A, Shake to send feedback, and endless promotions for business finance. No features that would actually be useful. The business fees are an absolute joke, what do they expect people to do. For me it's almost 20% on everything I sell which I cannot afford, it was 10% not that long ago and they wonder why Vinted are taking a massive percentage of the market. Clowns.

PLEASE NOTE: on the market before 13.12.24 does NOT mean you have listed it. If the product is not stored in the EU (already there before 13.12.24) then it MUST comply. The exceptions are if the product is over 100 years old (needs official checks) and digital products listed before 13.12.24 as they are already 'in the EU'.

I lost $900 usd for a Doubled die Quarted that took me 10 years to find after a buyer ruined the item and sent it back ebay didn't let me recoup any of the money what so ever .....

It basically comes down to eBay is a big major company and has zero care for the individual and the seller has absolutely no rights it’s all about the buyer

If eBay do it solely online postage it will kill off a lot of post offices. I like going to my local post office once or twice a week buying in store so they actually receive the fee. If it’s paid online the sub postie receives nothing.

I have changed postage as a private seller to tracked only so eBay pay quicker than 2 weeks. Standard post services do not appear on eBay as delivered unless buyer ticks received.

When I have had this sort of issue I mention that I took 40 pictures of the item but only used 10 in the listing, usually stops them dead!

This nonsense isn't new to you, so WHY are you consistently continuing to do business on eBay???

I use to sell lots of things people seem to moan about anything to get money off don't sell anymore to much hassle

It's not all a one sided situation though, there are hundreds, if not thousands of sellers that eBay do diddly squat about who are constantly , blatantly & whole heartedly RIPPING OFF eBay buyers, some selling just absolute rubbish, other deliberately misleading with false advertising and others just completely scamming people out of money and it is NOT easy or straight forward getting through to eBay now and even harder getting them to actually take any direct action. So it happens both ways, eBay care about one thing only, MONEY!

sounds like ebay's doing the same as amazon did... as in built on the backs of the 'little' people / the small time sellers then when the times right jettison them and cozy up with big businesses... time will tell but this bait and switch has being going on for a while but its speeding up now...

New subscriber here! I watched this video earlier today and tried it with one item so far. I went into a listing that I posted a few days ago and had ended it because I had made a big mistake in the listing. I went back to it under ended listing, I clicked on "sell similar" and no joke, I sold it a couple hours later! I'd like to think that this works, so I am going to try this with a few more listings and at least hopefully get some more eyes on my listings. Thank you!!! (I will come back for an update in a few days!)

I'm going to be blunt, I completely agree with Ebay's responses in this. I do feel you're trying to clutch at straws and showing a blatant disregard to the Distance Selling Regulations.
