I've watched your videos for a long time, but this was so nice to watch and hear you opening up/rambling. It's refreshing, and as someone diagnosed with ADHD as an adult, the things and thought processes you describe ring home so much and it's videos like this that, as someone just starting out with my reselling business, despite spending at least the past two years buying/hoarding stock, make me feel so much better with my decision. Waffle over, and thank you to the both of you and the content you create. 👍❤

Hey Nick & Andrea, I'm the one who chased after you at Rewind 😂 been a little poorly so not tuned in for a while. Glad all is going well. I also looked at the ADHD traits and then heard about Executive Dysfunction which I tick alot of boxes for, I do think that labels or understanding more about yourself is important. I'm less harsh on myself when I struggle with a task because I know I'm just not wired the way everyone else is.

I'm neuro divergent as well, not had a diagnosis but fit a lot of symptoms of Aspergers & ADHD and have family members with dyslexia and autism. I've been fortunate to find a part time job where I'm working on my own and I do ebay alongside this. Almost every full time job I did in the past, I hated. Ebay has been a real saviour, which I sometimes take for granted now, but every now and then I remember how I used to feel stuck in jobs I hated in the past & it gives me that kick of motivation to keep listing when the sales aren't happening.

Nic....never put a label yourself. No-one is normal. We are all unique and have our quirks...Organised or disorganised, on-time or not, JUST DO YOU ! Your strengths are SO visible..... happy successful marriage to the lovely Andrea, being a dad to the talented Ellen, your love for animals, music, the environment and your community. You are also very good at DIY. So, enjoy your strengths and doing the things that make you smile .

Hi Nic. Funny how different people are. I'm totally the opposite to you. I'm hyper focused, organised and obsessive over time management. However I'm not a people person. (one of your strengths). I'm the classic 'feel alone in a crowd' type. I've tried to be more people friendly, but I've excepted it's just not me. Enjoy the videos, Paul.

Thanks for sharing!! Dealing with people is a skill I have learnt, I was painfully shy as a child but I suppose it has become a strength :)

However organised we think we are, things can very quickly change into utter chaos.

I’m easily distracted whilst testing stuff. Doesn’t help I’ve got too much to sort and I’ve had this flu virus now full blown chest infection for a month. Hence I’m constantly on KZbin in bed!

I am neurospicy too. Diagnosed with Autism and ADHD in the last 2 years. The labels help to understand, and are the only way to get any support at work or in education, unfortunately. My brain always feels like it has 100 tabs open at the same time 😂 How I graduated with a first in Psychology in July at the age of 53, while working full-time in the NHS and caring for my autistic son, I will never know. 🤷♀️ Now I have quit my job and I am training to be a primary school teacher. Will I finish the training? Who knows? 🤣 Selling some of my own items on ebay at the minute to help fund my training. Love the videos! 🙂

@@NicHills Nic you already have superpowers, look at how you bring everybody together, you and Andrea are amazing, you should so proud of yourselves, you have loads of tools to your belt!!!! My label is I'm just me, although I do understand people needing labels , I watch Bex Mason she's Neurdiverse amongst other thing's great watch!!!!❤❤

Nic, mark as dispatched and send on a non tracked service when buyer needs it, eBay can’t ding you that way. 👍🏻

I definitely resonate with this. I think a lot of resellers are similar. I really don't like the labels and prefer to see it as just what I'm like. It took me five attempts to get a degree, and holding down jobs for any length of time was very difficult. Self employment of various sorts over the last 25 years has been brilliant. Grateful to be able to make a living and retain my sanity!

I spent most of my life not even thinking about it and have only recently started thinking about how I function and why.... It doesn't change anything but does explain a few things!!

I began to seek answers for my traits a few years ago, after some research I sought advice from the GP who referred me to a psychiatrist. I was diagnosed with ADHD and placed on stimulant medication. The medication was a gamechanger for me, unfortunately the side effects were deemed unsafe, and the medication was withdrawn. I self-manage now and luckily being self employed really helps with that.

Have you noticed over the years your store is “allowed” to make more sales? I get 6-12 daily and can’t go higher. Still in first year. I heard they may limit sales to prevent a seller from being overwhelmed with orders and over time they gradually increase.

Another reseller with Adhd here 👋 The reselling, and KZbin communities in general for that matter are full of neurospicy people! I got diagnosed a couple of years ago aged 38, it's helped me to be a bit more accepting and gracious towards myself... I now realise I'm not just "bad at being a human" for no reason. I can recommend a TON of podcasts and Insta accounts which are helpful 😂

Thankyou - I've already found some Insta accounts :) It's amazing how much I can identify with

Probably not worth your time to test stuff that is extremely likely to work and is relatively cheap, if the buyer complains for whatever reason your probably going to refund them anyway, and would you even want the returned goods?
@NicHillsКүн бұрын
Maybe - but for my peace of mind I would rather know the stuff works and list it as fully tested and working :)
