Most people perceive Paul Washer as harsh......but he speaks the truth. Even though King David was a true child of God, when he sinned, God dealt with him (2 Samuel chapters 11 & 12). He accepted the bitter but helpful truth. He knew he deserved the punishment. He wasn't bitter with God. Today, most people have terrible problems in their lives because when they sin and are being punished for it, they feel that God is being callous. They don't accept the truth. I do not agree with the prayer of salvation. However, it's very obvious through scripture that these methods spoken of by some of these men are NOT how to receive salvation. Obviously that's how they were saved. But the apostle Paul did nothing right and was born again in a very fast conversion. Everyone I've met has had different conversions. God saves, heals and delivers everyone differently. Which proves in itself the prayer of salvation is a false doctrine. There have been some saved through that prayer because they were crying out with their whole heart. Paul, Peter and every other disciple had totally different conversions.

God hates our sin, not the sinner. John 3:16-18. For God so love the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, that WHOSOEVER believeth in Him, should not perish, but HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE. Grace feels so much heavier when we recognize we are deserving of eternal death if not for Christ. And that recognition should ignite our worship.

A preacher isn't meant to stand alone. He is meant to be surrounded by men who hold him accountable. I see with Billy Graham that he needed men to come alongside him and tell him that it was time to retire from teaching.
