It's cheaper in the Philippines were Macapuno coconuts originated. Macapuno is a Filipino word meaning "tends to be full" which describes the coconut meat content inside. Mostly used for dessert not for fresh coconut water. For that, you buy regular young coconuts.

Why do people need to lie about what these fruit taste like? Both fruits have a funk to them... Much less in the Jackfruit. Cempedak is very funky.. Has a similar sulfur-like taste and smell and a hint of garlic/onion like durian. Yes, it is extremely sweet, but not in a good way.

I am growing both of them & that will be the only chance that I will get to eat them at my location in Australia because they're not readily available in shops in my area. Some people in Sydney are growing jackfruit however !

Thank you so much!! I live in the middle of nowhere Tennessee and lychee aren't available anywhere nearby. I came up to visit my family in Indiana and they've given me a crate of fresh lychee and i love them but can't possibly eat so many in such a short time so this is a big help! I can freeze them and take them back home. This is the best, thank you thank you THANK YOU!!!

You failed to say that the regular coconut you were using and comparing was actually a Young Coconut. It was not a mature coconut. And you never said if the other one was a mature one or a young one. The flesh of a regular coconut is completely different from being a young one vs a mature one.

*screeching* wait a minute... this is actually a genius sub for baked potato if you're on keto/LCHF! avocado is a kitchen staple anw for this lifestyle, so instead of force-feeding yourself with a bitter avocado, just make this.

The jackfruit is less ripe otherwise it can become wayy softer and juicier. If it ripens fully it becomes sweet and juicy as hell. Also depends on vareity.

Right. Not all jackfruit are waxy like the video kind and some do drip juice. The waxy kind is my least favourite. I like the kind that is smooth and slippery and very sweet. I've had jackfruit that the flesh is like the cempedak in the video but I know it was jackfruit because of the size, rind and how I had to remove the arils. There are no cempedak that I've seen in Jamaica but we have several varieties of jackfruit

How do you know it’s ripe when freeze dried and blended into a powder? Would it look pink? Vs the orange powder. What’s the difference as I’ve seen pink powders and orange or tan or brown powders.
