I am growing both of them & that will be the only chance that I will get to eat them at my location in Australia because they're not readily available in shops in my area. Some people in Sydney are growing jackfruit however !

The jackfruit is less ripe otherwise it can become wayy softer and juicier. If it ripens fully it becomes sweet and juicy as hell. Also depends on vareity.

Right. Not all jackfruit are waxy like the video kind and some do drip juice. The waxy kind is my least favourite. I like the kind that is smooth and slippery and very sweet. I've had jackfruit that the flesh is like the cempedak in the video but I know it was jackfruit because of the size, rind and how I had to remove the arils. There are no cempedak that I've seen in Jamaica but we have several varieties of jackfruit

Malaysian jackfruit.(Artocarpus integer) Whereas jackfruits botanical name is Artocarpus heterophyllus .
