That was Sears cheapest model back in 1981! I had one EXACTLY like that. It was the very first thing that I ever bought on my Sears Credit Card. I believe that mower is from 1981 or earlier. Why? Because it does NOT have the dead man cut-off handle. After 1982, all lawnmowers sold in the USA were required to have a dead-man handle that cut the engine off if you didn't hold the handle closed. It was a reliable old mower. And, I bought the optional grass catcher later for it.

Hi It should fit. use the drive pulley from the bigger engine. I'm not sure of the wiring. It should be the same since they are both Briggs. I did an engine swap last year, Briggs 19.5 one cylinder to a Briggs 22 V twin. everything was the same except the muffler. good luck on the swap.

@@DaleHobbs39 Well it turns out that the parts for this particular 1hp 7.5 gallon compressor are totally unavailable anywhere. I threw it back in the trash, I should've kept the motor but I don't really have the space and had to force myself over time to limit what I hoard away, I started to bury myself in stuff, and things.....well you know. I left it at the curb and it disappeared, maybe someone else knows something I don't, it was missing everything for the compression, including the counterweight, the fan, the piston, rod and cylinder.

I’m going to have to get a couple of dowels to assist with the assembly of the carburetor on a very good Craftsman mower with a Honda engine that’s been sitting in a shed for 2-3 years. I can see that it would be ideal to get a Sonic cleaner and an air hose to be properly equipped. The Easy Walk controller for the self propelled feature works like a charm (or at least it used to). Thanks!

How do you adjust the belt tension for the deck belt on this mower. When I engage mine it’s not super tight.
@DaleHobbs398 ай бұрын
The spring and pulley shown at 3:45 is what tension the belt. If the belt is installed right and is the correct length when you engage the PTO lever it applies tension to the spring and tightens the belt. There is a diagram on the deck or on the under side of the running board that shows how to rap the belt around the pulleys.
@igotakai56445 ай бұрын
@@DaleHobbs39 Hi Dale, what if you "engage" the blades with the lever but the blades don't spin and the belt feels loose? It appears to be routed correctly according the the diagram on the deck. Does that just mean the belt is old and stretched out? I can see the belt tensioner pulley move back and forth when I move the engagement lever. Thank you!

I’ve had a couple Tecumsehs and they seem to cause me trouble. I really like the way you work and show the important stuff. At 81 , I’m a little late in the game, but I learn something every day, even though I forget more that I remember.
