That mid trim piece comes out bottom then top edge. You need to lift the hat rack up about 6 inches to lift that top trim piece out and back in place to keep from damaging it. To keep from breaking the tab on the exterior trim piece, start from the rear end and work forward, not from the front end. Other than that, a great video and appreciate your work.

fyi - the banner on the thumbnail is referring to Porsche tuning from another one of your videos. Clicked on it to see how exactly that would apply to a Lotus...
I've had this Lincoln tank for several years. Draining oil from the unit is problematic! I tried to drain into 1 gallon jugs, but there are several issues there. The drain hose end fitting is oversize of any jug openings I've found, so when one manages to stuff it in, all you've done is set yourself up for disaster, when the jug quickly fills and then continues out onto the garage floor! Further note: the provided hose does not like oil and hardens to the point where it snapped right off at the lower fitting, as if it was hard plastic! That's not good. Again, gallons of oil out onto the shop floor! I will be going to my local oil line service company for an oil friendly replacement. In your video, I think you lucked out only having a small amount of oil in the tank. It's been a love hate relationship. Love draining oil into it. Hate trying to get it out!
@HelpMeDIY3 күн бұрын
+@deanoko what I finally found that works well is a 5 gallon plastic “jug” with a large opening with a screw on cap from Amazon. Easy to get oil into and transport to my local auto parts store for recycling or to pour into smaller containers from it using a funnel.

I just completed the installation of the LN ultimate AOS track version with oil return line. I watched the video multiple times before doing the installation of the LN ultimate AOS and watched it while installing the kit. I am very UNHAPPY with it primarily because of its poor design. I plan to contact LN Engineering and discuss a resolution because unlike Aaron, I CANNOT get the engine cover to close. Let me explain...... The position of the hose elbow on the accumulator is badly designed and in my opinion amounts to a product defect. It sticks out so far that it is impossible to fasten the engine lid. Watch these parts of the video 37.03-37.11, 37.58-38.19, 38.34-38.40, 42.16-42.19 and you can see how the accumulator elbow sits on TOP of the flange where the lid corner bolt attaches and blocks it. There is no way to adjust this. Finally go to 42.33-43.10 in the video where Aaron explains how HE managed to get his engine cover back on by forcing it forward. I tried this but no joy. I invite a representative from LN Engineering to join this discussion and explain to everyone how they could have allowed this product to be sold knowing about this hose elbow problem. Unlike Aaron, I CANNOT force the lid back and down far enough to get the lid corner bolt into place. Doing so would damage the accumulator hose elbow and possibly the accumulator itself. And I am not about to hammer a dimple in the lid to make it fit, that's unacceptable. So, I do NOT recommend buying this product . LN Engineering needs to go back to the drawing board on this one and redesign the accumulator hose elbow. The second design flaw, in my opinion, is how the oil drain return hose connects to the oil filler tube. Even taking into account the need for the hose to go downhill a bit for gravity to draw the oil back into the filler tube, the point where the rubber oil filler hose connects to the hard plastic filler tube should be low enough for LN Engineering to make a simple T-fitting that goes between the where the rubber hose and plastic hose connect and for the oil return line to connect there. This would obviate the need to remove the plastic oil filler tube, thus obviating the need to remove the alternator and drive belt. I've purchased several other products from LN and am happy with them. But this one is a "fail" and LN Engineering needs to address these problems before I would recommend it to anyone. I tried to be respectful and factual in my assessment, but if my frustration and disappointment comes through, well, yes, I am frustrated and disappointed. I hope that when I contact LN Engineering next week they will work with me on a satisfactory resolution.

Excellent video thank you. It showed me where all the hidden aspects of removing this were without me having to find them myself. But my suggestion to make it much easier is this: Undo all the bolts you undo and the electrical connections. But there is no need to remove the plastic plenum tube. Do everything you did but just release the big jubilee clips on each end of the plenum and rotate the whole shebang upwards. Then you can unbolt the two bolts underneath easily. Then the two top bolts. Then it comes out without a fight. Once the throttle body is removed you can just stick your hand in there and clean it manually. Take the throttle body away and use 0000 fine woolwire to get the carbon off both the body and the edge of the butterfly. This is crucial to solving why it's got a bad idle. This is what is causing bad running as air is escaping around the carbon build up highs spots causing poor idle because the butterfly is not closing properly. With zero disrespect to your efforts, you eventually got this part of the fix right but main point is don't remove the plenum box as there is no need to as long as you can then rotate it for ease of removal. Don't mess with the electrical connections, use contact cleaner. Carefully check the screws in the electrical bits attached to the throttle body in case they have come loose. Not too hard. if they were loose you will know it. You need to make sure no air leaks is why I mention this. Then check the gasket from the throttle body to the plenum box. Mine was old and flat meaning potential air leak. Use a flat hand sander around 120 corse. This will make sure your throttle body side is totally flat. Then even if you don't buy a new gasket which I didn't, use a suitable silicon gasket maker that can't later get sucked into the works. Be aware that the throttle body is alluminium and where the steel butterfly and the body meet may be corroded. The original car is nearly 30 years old. Mine was a bit pitted. Reassemble. Stable idle and proper throttle response will follow. Brisbane Australia
