White ppl dont naturally get "locks" thei hair gets matted. Theres a difference.

I feel like my journey is the complete opposite of yours... I never did anything unusual, I was always so afraid of what other people think about my appearance. Now I'm at a point where I don't care so much. *I* like dreadlocs. Just started with some fake ones and will soon be getting real ones... just half my head so I can be versatile according to my mood... but yeah 😊

I'm so sorry you went through this. What a sad day.

Daaaaamnnnn! White lady dread experience is nothing like a Black woman's experience. Lol! People are so afraid of us when we have dread. To the whites it signals lesbian, danger and dirty.

I'm not trying to be funny, but on straight hair (even loced) would you need oil? I'm thinking that would make the hair look greasier on the scalp????

I was just wondering how caucasian people did this. Ugh, this nearly made me cry! All that beautiful, naturally straight hair purposefully being turned into knotty, tangled clumps! Ripping thru it like that! Noooo! Being black, my hair is naturally curly, 3b, but I prefer it straight, so I relax it to get it bone straight. And to think these girls who are lucky enough to have super straight Marcia and Jan Brady hair, are doing this to their lovely hair....Well it's awful, just awful!! *Runs from room in tears!* 😢😢

Thank you!! I’m 48, in Reno, and about to start my second dread journey after 23 years! I want this set to be better than the ones I had in my 20s and I want to loose less length. I think this technique will be PERFECT!!!

I don't even know how to ask the question properly... When I first start, how do I decide which hairs will be combined into one strand? Can I do this at home alone?

Mine are literally just coming out in chunks while I'm trying to brush them out....I would of never gotten dreads if I knew my hair was just gonna break and fall out once I tried to comb them out. I've had them for 4 years and it's so bad and has me crying....they don't just brush out. It's chunks coming out. With no hair left behind....

Aw i cried a little watching this. I know being a woman especially our hair is way more than just hair. On more than a spiritual level our hair means so much. I recently lost my sister and brother and best friend all within a year and i lost my mind. In the midst of my crisis i cut off all my hair in a blind heartbroken rage and now 3 years later i can say it was one of the best things i could have done. I loved watching your video, thabk you for being raw and genuine and sharing such an intimate experience 🤍
