Weird gameplay, but amazing use of the limited MSX graphics, so colorful. And with smooth scroll. The launch bug just ruined it, nothing to be done at that time

If you take the wrong exit you actually go a level back! Such a cool feature.

So they made a Back to the future game and the only time you see the DeLorean is at level 10 for less than a second? That's beyond crazy 😂😂
@MP838 күн бұрын
Yeah, you won't even see Doc Brown until the final stage. The game is so bloody hard that I think only like 2% of players ever managed to finish it. The item pickup mechanics are never explained in the game or manual (manual just says there's a trick, figure it out!).

I've made a detailed guide about all of the game's mechanics over here: msx.org/forum/msx-talk/software/guide-to-back-to-the-future-msx (Includes a map showing all the hidden grape and apple locations)

For those who don't know, Compile used to make Disc Station exclusive trailers to some of their games released exclusively on their Disc Station disk magazine series. These trailers had visuals and other content that weren't in the actual games, so in order to get the complete experience, you would first need to watch the trailer from one Disc Station issue, then play the actual game on another issue. It's confusing, but that's the way Compile did it.

This isn't a game but a game trailer. The actual game is on Disc Station Deluxe #2. This is the preview from Disc Station #5. That's all there is.

At the end of hard mode: "To think someone could clear 32 levels in Hard Mode, I never even dreamed it was possible. Are you really human?" It also has "By programmer Pac Fujishima", simply replacing each letter for the next in the alphabet. :)

Awesome game, I really miss the MSX for Xak and Fray games. I just wish there were more options on interacting with NPCs and less plataforming, becuase it can be quite frustrating sometimes.

It's a Japanese 60Hz game running on a 60Hz Japanese MSX, so it plays the correct speed. 😊 When played on a 50Hz MSX (like European system), the game and music plays 20% slower than intended.

I had this game, but I never got the idea behind it. You can't finish a mini game and you can;t finish the main game. You can only die/fail/whatever.
