Nice overview. I do the wheel strategy in a portfolio margin account and i take my options off when I get 30% intra day, 40% in 1 day, and 50% beyond 1 day. I am always willing to take assignment and sell calls. I am retired and it’s been a game changer.

I kept a budget, so I knew what my living expense is. When my calculated after tax pension and SS became equal to my living expenses, I retired. That happened when I was 68 years old. t works for me and I am 92 years old now. My other assets including Roth's, stocks, savings, etc. remain untouched.

Great video. I've several questions. 1) I understand that I can setup 72(t) using a combined total across multiple IRA accounts. Is that true? 2) If true, then I can withdraw the appropriate amount from any account as long as the total matches one of the three distribution method, right? 3) My IRA accounts are still working hard. Next year total amounts will be different from this year. If I use RMD method, I don't have to recalculate again, right? I look forward to reading your response. TIA

Most people don’t realise it, but the secret to retiring comfortably is finding a way to make returns while your money works for you. My dad, as I remember, started saving for retirement quite late, but I know he was making more than 10k returns from his investment monthly and it was completely passive. He was only 60 at the time.

Sure! Here’s alThis is truly impressive. I wonder how he achieved it-was it through real estate, or was he deeply involved in the market?
@lacreshahicks5 күн бұрын
Not really. Approximately four years before to my dad's retirement, our family was introduced to a financial advisor. That was the catalyst for the transformation. I believe my retirement income would be on the right track because I've been using the same advisor.

Correct! We aren’t taking withdrawals early because all the limits you have to adhere to - SS being taxed and IRMAA penalties. All the complicated stuff. I would love to take IRA withdrawals but instead have to budget tighter due to the penalizes listed above.

You usually give good concise information but this time I believe you added to the confusion. Here is a better explanation: If you buy back a stock you sold at a loss within 30 days, the IRS will disregard the round trip of sell and buy back as if you never sold and you never bought back. The only impact is that you possibly turned a long term capital gain into short term if the stock rebounds. Also, you failed to mention that possibly all U.S licensed brokerages do all these calculations automatically on your 1099 end of year tax return. If you like to get tax deduction for a big loss this year as opposed to in the future just don’t buy it back for 30 days. Other than long term vs short term and current year vs future don’t even think about wash sale. Buy and sell as you please. In my case, Schwab 1099 accounts for all that.
