The job and hiring situation (as far as being less likely to get hired) is wrong (as in it shouldn't be that way) But when it comes to the romantic and dating preference, it is what it is. People like what they like. Can't force someone to pick someone if that's not what they're attracted to. And as far as showing empathy for masculinity, i most certainly will not. The Godfather said it best: if i wasn't on my business and was broke and unproductive would a BW have empathy on my situation? No she would not. So i couldn't care less WHY she's masculine. A masculine woman is a no-go and she'll get left behind 🤷🏿‍♂️ I'm a very successful brotha with desirable traits a wide variety of women find attractive. Not gonna be graceful or empathetic or patient and wait on some woman to find her femininity just cuz she's a BW. Gonna go with my best option at that moment, regardless her ethnicity

Finding your own race attractive is normal and not racist. The reason Black people fair badly on dating apps is not because of racism it's because they expect people of other races to choose them over their own people. It's pathetic

Ethnic groupsb in the West are also racist and stop with the victim card, you live in a developed Country. mixed race pple shouldnt even bother with you

What you believe is fine but what you should've said is that bw are the more ideal female for you without the mention of any other race cause you woulnt like it if say an asian person said that wm are the most attractive men to them even though when asians date out they go fr wm not bm. Bw have their own isues, esp western bw, many are masculine, ghetto, rude/combative so much so tht US bw are the least married females in America. Your preference is just that, YOUR preference. not the preference of most other men

I am currently on vacation and i tried to bedriend some girls today and got refused and sometimes glanced badly by some of them (european white girls),the only ones Who agreed to have a chat and play some volleyball by the Sea were 3 black girls. They were beautiful, but above all, super nice and friendly. I have some newfound respect for black girls, those 3 made my day much better today

Thank you for breaking down this topic. It’s difficult to get ppl to understand something while experiencing it. Your perspective as a black man is needed though. As an adult I experience colorism way different than I did as a child. So I appreciate that you gave realistic examples of how this idea limits or ruins the lives of women with darker skin. Its not always about ppl that used to call me “darkie” lbs.

I relate to this. I'm a feminine and very soft spoken DSBW and I've had AA BM call me "bro" and "bruh" in a conversation while I'm wearing a pink dress with satin bows in my hair. This happens quite often. There is literally no reason at all for that and it's unacceptable to so casually be spoken to like I'm a man when NOTHING in my nature protrays that I'm manly in any way. It makes me uncomfortable and frustrated and I instantly retreat a conversation when I'm referred to as any male associated pronoun. I've only ever had AA BM do that "bro/bruh" thing to me, never any other ethnicity of men. You are spot on. I was also grieving the loss of a family member once and an AA BM laughed and told me "I can tell you're ready to fight!" even though I was displaying sadness and exhaustion, not anger or aggression, and he KNEW that my family member just passed away. It was so insensitive and the blatant masculinization was unwarranted and mean.

Look at American celebrities every single one of them have used lightening supplements look at Nicki, bey even Kelly rowland (which is worse cos she's actually dark skin)

13:47 This was true in the late 60's and 70's, even a little into the 80's, but not so much anymore. After the fall of the Black Panthers in the 70's, black pride really fell off. That was really the start of the whole colorism thing and the internalize hatred by dark skinned African Americans. Also, that internalized hatred could have been reenforced by hollywood, though. You'll see a lot of movies from the 80's and 90's with scenes of one brother putting down another brother just for his dark skin, and this spilt over in the real world.

8:50 Skin bleaching is a global epidemic, though. It's not just in the African communities. It's in East Asian, Southeast Asian, and Indian cultures, as well. Frankly it makes me sick how prevalent skin bleaching creams are in society as a whole.

0:27 Colorism is huge in the movie, tv, and music industry in the US. There's multiple tv shows where dark skinned cast members get replaced by light skinned actors. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is a good example of this. Aunt Viv in S1-2, then Aunt Viv in S3-7.... Most times, though, the lead actress is usually light skinned, even if the lead actor is dark skinned.... This is in hollywood, though. A lot of indie films in the US don't run into this problem.

1:52 Amen to that. My first crush was Grace Jones in Conan The Destroyer. Then it was Kim from A Different World. Laura from Family Matters. Then I saw Angela Bassett in Malcolm X, then again in What's Love Got To Do With It.... Then again in Vampire In Brooklyn. Alysia Rogers/ Demita from Class Act.

0:49 It's all about pushing a certain narrative and agenda. I believe everyone has there preferences, but the "wahyte is right" narrative has been pushed for centuries, basically since the roman empire. The roman church were the first to depict Jesus as white, light brown hair and blue eyes, rather than what Israelites actually looked like.

If a white guy thinks white women are the most beautiful. A black guy thinks black women are the most beautiful. A Latino man thinks Latino women are the most beautiful. And an Asian man thinks Asian women are the most beautiful… I don’t see how there could be a general consensus about THE most beautiful. Sure, thick is in.. But when it wasn’t, it wasn’t. So it’s kind of hypocritical to use current beauty standards as a gauge to what’s beautiful because when the beauty standard changes and doesn’t resemble your race, we all say it’s racism. For a long time tall, thin women with long legs (what they called STEMS) were in for a long time. Did that mean black women weren’t beautiful? No. So a white or black girl that doesn’t have big lips and ass also doesn’t not make her beautiful because it’s “in”.
