Is it possible to take raw still picture with this camera? What about timelapse
@rawfootagesupply26 күн бұрын
Page 92 of the manual indicates that Continuous Autofocus does not exist in any of the high frame rate modes, such as 4k 120fps. Can you explain what the autofocus experience is like in this mode? It would be great to see what the autofocus functionality looks like in high frame rates such as 4k 120fps. Thanks!
@hawaiifreespeechnews10 күн бұрын
If that's the case then I'm sticking with the R1
@rawfootagesupply9 күн бұрын
@ Just a quick update. Canon release a firmware update to correct this. Continuous autofocus now works up through 120fps. I received my C400 today. Couldn’t be happier.

how did the af of the komodo hold up?
Ай бұрын
I didn’t use AF if the Komodo. I used the Lidar on the PDMOVIE LIVE AIR 3 smart. It drove the motor to turn the focus ring of the Tokina lenses. Overall though - the KX AF is good for interviews or talking head shots with RF lenses. With that being said, it was better with the RF/EF adapter and sigma 18-35. Not sure why. A tip is to make the focus box larger and place it on the chest of your interview subject so it doesn’t go out of focus too much if at all. The original Komodo AF is worse for sure.
@StondiexdАй бұрын
So you don’t recommend the face detect auto focus?
Ай бұрын
@Stondiexd in a pinch it’s definitely helpful, and I’d use it for sure for an event if I absolutely had to. LIDAR works much better for sure. Cameras from Sony or canon (or any other for that matter) are definitely gonna be better suited for AF. With that being said - we never know what Nikon may do now that it bought red. But I give credit to the Komodo for sure. I was pleased enough with it but it’s nothing like, for example, the canon c400 I’m using (or the Sony Fx6 I tested a year ago)

Canon has claimed to have improved the EIS significantly by adding gyroscopic data to the output. They also have a “vector based” IS mode. Can you test this compared to the EIS in the previous gen cameras?

I haven’t tested the EIS of this camera or previous ones - but I’ll add this to my notes for the review! Appreciate you watching!

This camera is so lightweight. Why would you need that contraption?
Ай бұрын
I hear ya! Yes - compared to a fully built out rig it is lighter. In the same hand, Lightweight is subjective - and when you’re holding it for 4-5 hours fatigue sets in! The easyrig minimax stabil light reduces that and helps me get more steady shots. 🙏🏾
@LukeSchaeferFilmsАй бұрын
No the hell it isn't when you're operating it for hours and the easy rig makes every shot 300% less shaky and much more smooth.
@DuffTVАй бұрын
Try it with a rf 24-105 2.8 on the end. It's heavy compared to c70 with the old ef
@LukeSchaeferFilmsАй бұрын
Amazing!! Can’t wait to see the footage! Is that minimal stabil worth the $2400? Thinking of getting one after my c400 arrives! I do a lot of handheld with my r5 and am able to make it smooth with the in camera stabilization but I know c400 will be way harder lol
Ай бұрын
Thanks so much brother! Can’t wait to share the footage! And congrats on the C400! Yes - I think it’s worth the money, but I got to admit - I got mine on sale at B&H. You just have to check deal zone here and there! It was like $2k after taxes so I had too! I went handheld most of the night - but then had to put the STABIL light on and saved my back! I just had to be weary of guests space wise and made sure to clear it with the client (didn’t wanna be doing too much lol). You’re gonna LOVE the C400 - I actually ended up picking up another one (my wife was shooting on the 2nd one with a 70-200.) thanks for watching!!!
@NicoBaum-dr5sfАй бұрын
Why only documentary filmmaking? My question: Isn’t the C400 on a level where it is just the perfect camera which can do it all? Documentary, Commercials, Run’n’Gun social content, …? I am so interested in how to push the camera and the raw image in a way that it is on the same level as the Komodo (no global shutter, but full frame) for shooting commercials. I’ve seen a lot of Bad C400 footage, people are handling it wrong in post-production I guess
Ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment! When I say documentary filmmaking - I actually am thinking of run and gun / non scripted work. But yes - to your point - it can do it all! I’m playing around with the footage now - but it’s not looking bad so far. Took it right out the box and started shooting in its default mode. Hope to share some stuff soon! Thanks for watching!

Nice. Still fuji 35mm f1.4 rules 4 the price
@KingFiercer_zipАй бұрын
Fuji is sharper lens, but the character is quite different, also it feels really different to focus manually with Nokton. Overall I would say Nokton have more dreamy, more vibrant and more 3d look, while the Fuji is better corrected, yet still have its own character. I like both, but I found Nokton a bit more fun to use and with more variety of results at different apertures

Love the Tokina Cinema Vista Prime! Little nervous by the sandbag placement and that the bag is touching the ground.

They’re stellar lenses right? Oh really? Genuinely don’t know since most of the time I operate solo - what’s the best placement for the sandbag? And why can’t it touch the floor? Everything was stable but open to learn the best way.

Thanks for the nice and explanatory video. One question though, how does this lens work with the OVF? Does the focus scale work? What about the bright frame, does it correct for parallax, is it accurate? I am seriously considering buying either this lens or the 23mm version; but if I am forced to use the EVF all the magic fades away

I'm facing a similar conundrum. It's coming to about a year since I got the Fuji XT30ii. I have 2 lens, the kit xc 15-45mm and a ttartisan 35mm 1.4 manual. They've covered my bases and I love the 35, makes it very compact combo. Photography for me is for the creative outlet/hobby. By middle of next year considering getting a new camera. The xt30ii scratches everything for me, xtrans 4 senor, film sims, compactness. I'm not sure if I want to invest the money on more expensive lenses for fuji. I'm looking at the Nikon ZF, it surprise how much I'm interested in it. It beeing FF, the lens are relatively more expensive. I want to pair it with a Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.0, basically a dream set up. A 2k cameria + a 1.5k lens, why not get a Leica for that amount? I think theyre overrated. I don't know food for thought. I'm currently not in the market at all but maybe in the next 1.5-2 yrs. Do I need it? Hell no. I'm only a year in, but my thoughts and interests have changed since I've started. Good video!

I have silver and it’s sexy as hell, but use it of a night and it’s hard to see the dial markings. Whereas on the black the white numbers have a lot better contrast and are easier to see in low light. Minor thing but worth considering when and how you shoot.
