What this lens confirms for me is the idea that the film look isn't just colours but also sharpness. Since old school film cameras use manual lenses, focus is a little off sometimes but it opens the image up to me, in a way that I'm no longer just interested by the subject in focus, but the whole image as a whole

LOVE this explanation. I agree - I think nowadays everything is about sharpness and megapixels and all that marketing speak. But at the end of the day, it’s the image that moves you! Some of my favorite pics are much less than 40, 26, or even 16 megapixels! Thanks for watching! 🙏🏾

@I recently watched a movie called The Old Oak and I learn something from the director, Ken Loach. There were times when I noticed some technical imperfections (I would have been at a lower angle here or it's slightly off focus in this shot). But was the entire audience crying at the end of the movie? Yes. If I was to relate this to photography somehow it would be; it's the emotion we connect with. Perhaps we forget about that and get excited too much by new features. Like you said doesn't matter if it's top of the range camera or an analogue cam. Just wanted to share :) Thanks for making

Man so many people talk smack about how soft these voigtlander lenses are (the 23 and the 35 1.2), I'm glad I didn't listen to any of them though. 2 of my absolute favorite lenses ever

Thank you for short and concise videos with good pictures. It would be awesome to see the side by side comparison of $600 - Voigtlander Nokton 35mm1.2 and $60 - RISESPRAY 35mm F1.2. Taking into account the 10x price difference.

Damn... I cant remember when I see such organic rendering in Fuji X cameras/lenses! This Voigtlander has 3D pop as hell ;) Interesting..

I use mine with 16mp X-E1 and am quite happy too 😀And I'm very intrigued by the new Voigtlander 35mm f/0.9 lens, despite the size and weight, it must be amazing.

Really nice images! Even at 4k, it's hard to say if the 40mp sensor is making any difference vs 26. I personally don't think I'd purposefully go for this combination, but if I had an X-T5 I'm sure I'd have fun with this lens regardless, because the images have a nice, glowy quality to them that really stands out.

Yes you’re exactly right! Pixel peeping at F1.2 aperture they seem slightly sharper for sure, but it’s negligible but once you stop down and take advantage of the dual nature of this lens I think it’s more eye opening! This lens definitely has that creamy chromatic aberration wide open, but I wouldn’t call it soft or anything. It’s really nice! But as soon as you move to higher apertures it sharpens up drastically. Have you seen the new Voigtlander ultron 27mm F2? That one looks nice - it’s a pancake and blend the 23mm and 35mm together in terms of FOV

Hi, iam thinking of getting a xt5 with 23 and 35 Voigtlander. Can I set up the camera that it just show peaking when ism focusing ? I red it automatically punches in and you can’t turn it off. I just wand peaking, and punching in when i need to.

Hello! Yes you can only have focus peaking without automatic magnification. Try pressing the scroll wheel as well as checking your settings. Thanks for watching!

Is it just me or do the pics taken with this lens on your x-pro3 look better ....
11 ай бұрын
I do think that X-Pro3 had a certain kind’ve look to it! I think the X-Pro3 pics look different because of the 26 megapixels vs these which to me, seem sharper and (maybe?) a little more noisy because of the higher megapixel count, but both of those things could easily be affected by not nailing focus exactly right or differences in lighting, so the jury’s out on this one, but I appreciate you watching! 🙏🏾

@ I recently purchased the Voigtlander 27mm f/2 .... haven't had too much time to play with it. But I went ahead and sold my Fuji 27/2.8 II and going to experiment with the Voigtlander for a while. With the strong dollar, it was a pretty good price in Tokyo. $390'ish new (duty-free).

Oh wow! That’s an exceptional price. I almost copped the Voigtlander as well but the price held me back. Plus I know the X100V successor is right around the corner in early 2024 and I’m holding out to see what it’ll be like!
