And now 14 years after this clip, European war looms ever larger. And when the fallout settles, there will be hell to pay. I wonder if anyone will be around to comment 14 years from now.

My god, these people are adults, trying to shame a child and threaten him with violence. The world might be complex now, but at least most of us arnt savages anymore. A low moment for Wogan. People like James/ Lauren Harries paved the way for our personal freedom.

Sad movie really...but in the end...he did not follow his father's instructions to not follow him that night and because he did follow...everyone he loved died. His fault really and to show a re-birth type ending is not connective. He will be distraught and miserable his whole life.

If you look at the pistol used by Jude Law (Maguire) in this scne, it's actually a Savage 1907 chambered in the very unimpressive .32 ACP round. It's not at all uncommon for such an already very marginal pistol round fired out of a very short-barreled handgun to just barely penetrate the target, only to get captured in the cloth on the off side. If it were one of the other much more powerful handgun rounds commonly available at the time, such as 9mm Luger, .38 Special, or .45 ACP, this scene would be far less plausible.

And you see how well THAT 'revolution' worked out. Remember folks, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Castro, and whatever Kim is in charge of North Korea have murdered more people than any Nazi ever made. Communism and fascism are equal evils and anyone who thinks different is a fool.
