Thank you so much for the amazing videos-they’ve been incredibly helpful! I’m new to this and hoping you can help me out with a question. I’ve followed all the instructions, set up the controller on my iPad and iPhone, and routed the buttons on my RC-600. However, I can’t seem to get it to work or control the looper properly. I’m wondering if I’ve connected everything correctly or if there’s a specific setting on the RC-600 that I need to adjust. Currently, I have my iPad connected to the RC-600 using the USB cable that came with the unit. Is there a different way I should be connecting my iPad to the looper? Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks for posting this video, I was just getting into midi myself. it turns out you actually can control the memory changes with buttons. basically you just need to set the button up as a program control change (as opposed to a control change) in touch OSC and set the values accordingly. I think what was happening in this video was that the slider was just going through all the values by default, but thank you for this video even if it was from two years ago.

Awesome!! Really thinking about doing this for my FX banks! Just FYI.. CC1 is general midi mapping for mod wheel.. be careful what CCs you are using. (Wish I would have known this back in my mapping days).. a simple google search will help you decide which CCs to use.. My issue was if I use the same midi channel from an external controller then oh poop!

Midi only sends a signal so you would have to record output from the rc600. Like route your drum kits to sub 1 out and record that output. I hope that makes sense.

Thanks so much for your all your info. I had been looking for a way to stop disengaging from the audience while I bent over the RC-600. I thought it was going to be some kind of hardware controller but this works great. I've been able to get a handful of preexisting songs set up. Do you know of anyway to apply an assign mapping to all memories globally. thanks again, great work!!
@bsmusic3460
@bsmusic3460 6 ай бұрын
No global mapping. You have to copy all these settings to each memory. Wish Boss would correct it. I just take 1 memory that is set up. Name it Temp and then copy to all my memories. Then you can start using each memory and it will be set up for midi. It is nice to use this so you never have to bend over again..lol

Matt, Make sure you assigned a midi number on the touchosc editor. It is on video 2 at 12:28. You have to set channel to 1 and number is the midi number you assign. Go to video 3 at :34. Click assign , switch set to on, Source is your midi number, source mode is moment for sliders and toggle for on off buttons, Target set to what you want to control. That should do it. Dont forget to save it. Keep in mind the assigns are not global, they are only saved to the memory you have selected. Best way to do it is set up a template with all your assigns. Name that memory template. When making a new song use the template but save it to a new memory. That should do it!

Matt, did you set midi channels on the TouchOSC Editor when you were building the Layout?
@bsmusic3460
@bsmusic3460 2 жыл бұрын
Start watching video #2 at 13:07. Channel should be 1 and the number spot should be a Midi number you select. On part 3 video start at 1:55 for the RC600 assigns. Switch has to be on, Source is the midi number you picked in the touchOSC editor, Source Mode has to be set to Moment for Sliders and Toggle for on-off buttons, then Target is set to what you are going to control. Dont forget to save when you are done. Remember that the assigns are not global. So you have to set all the assigns for each memory. Best way to do that is make a template, use this template for each new song you do and save it to a different memory. Name the memory you just set up call it Template. I hope this helps. If not send me your questions.

Hey thanks for the kind words. You cant have 1 button do multiple things. Unfortunately you have to use one assign for each track or button. Hopefully Boss will give us more that 16 assigns in the future. I sure could use a few more. There is maybe a work around. If you use a Boss FS7 footswitch you can set it up for button A to increase the tracks and button be to decrease the tracks. The target would be CUR. TRK INC and CUR TRK DEC. This is listed in the parameter guide pdf.
