Is it that the mids are toned down, or thats the illusion due to the speaker going lower than the mini? Is it what you'd call a balanced/linear signature or a V-shaped one? Seems closest to Middleton in this selection. The Kilburn has an addictive sound. The X600 seems top heavy. Any comparison with audiophile speakers like Vifa?

Morning. I mixed up my bluetooth speaker collection this december. It was time für some changes and new inputs. My 2 Woburns were sold and only one Stanmore is left. The Middleton and the Kilburn were also sold in change to JBL Xtreme 4 und Charge 5. In Europe JBL sells over their own homepage refurbished and way cheaper products. Normaly brandnew with only missing or damaged original boxes. Still 2 years warranty. Here i bought also the JBL Boombox 3 which is amazing and brutal in sound and bass. Heavy but i use the bigger portable speakers only indoor. The Boombox 3 was a real bargain and its worth every EURO or Dollar. Even better bargain was the JBL Authentics 500 for about 330 Dollars. Brandnew with Garanty but original box with some scratches...which is fine. This speaker is a hell of a show ! Louder and more bass then my former Woburn 3. The overall soundquality is also fine. I am oldschool and love to stay and maybe dance nearby the speaker and then turn the nobs for volume, bass an treble depending on the song / genre / quality. This direct handlings without every time using phone, tablet, app are still since 1982 (first pioneer in my first car...) very important. Possibly here with the 500, but also with 300 and 200. But the plastics nops JBL is using are for shure not that nice to feel and handle as at the marshalls. This is in my eyes ....hands...the disadvantage. Maybe i will get used to it. In total the 500 is great and for shure a rival for the woburns. The OK Google and Alexa Fans might prefer the 500 anyway to the Marshalls (both systems are working on the 500). I stayed to the end, but I wish you had done a price comparison. I just got the Bose Max today and absolutely loved the sound. The speakers on each side are also a nice additional feature. I started to get the flex, but I enjoy music way too much to compromise on sound quality. Bose is a brand I’m familiar with and trust in terms of quality sound. If there’s a better speaker, I had to remain within my budget, so the aforementioned speaker, for me, is sufficient. I wasn’t familiar with the others you compared, but I really wished you did a price comparison. Thank you for your review 👍🏽.

I have the older OpenMove. They don't have much bass, but you have the vibration, which personally, I enjoy. Takes a week or so to get used to them, but once I did, I don't even want to use the in ear buds any more. I'm about to upgrade to the Pro 2

Acton 3 killer speaker 🔥

I bought a new pair of open run pro 2 and I am NOT happy with the sound quality. Bone conducting unit is very weak in the new model. There is no bass at all compared to the real bone conducting open run pro and open swim pro , I have them all. There is no point to buy a new model if you have already got the open run pro and/or swim pro as you will probably not like the sound of the dynamic units in terms of bass quality and quantity. It will be a step back. I am really disappointed with that , wasted the money.

Danny if you have a walmart you should really review their onn wifi speakers, they look like marshall speakers to help you find them, i have their medium size and for the price it’s great

Unfortunately, the cooperation between Oluv and Earfun (as I know) did not go very well. I am afraid that this will not be continued. But there should be. This speaker, thanks in part to his tuning, leaves three to four times more expensive speakers (such as JBL BoomBox 3) standing there, just looking at you. p.s.: the Marshall sounds something awful.

Just picked this up and you’re right, it’s a phenomenal speaker. However I’ve always found it weird when they add a special audio button, like why not just make it that way all the time? It’s as if they nerf the speaker on purpose and just add a button for added dramatic affect.

I listened many speakers today. JBL rocks, go4, xtreme4 very good. Its not about the price, its about firm that produce it, jbl always do "right" sound. Marshal, harman, was much worse...

Um I'd save the money and go Max stereo when I can. Yeah save up. APTX means you can put CD quality audio into this guy as you said via Blu Tooth. Finally Bose has something that supports Hi Rez blu tooth.

Got to try out the Pro & Pro 2. The Pro 2 blew me away!

A Cassette player with Bluetooth, a record button AND USB-C is absolutely WILD. Intrigued!

Acton 2 is certainly sound more muffled, especially compare to Acton 3. I owned both of them, volume wise, Acton 3 is also a lot lounder, the sound from the same source (my iPhone 14 Pro Max), Acton 3 volume 6 is the same as Acton 2 volume 8 if not even slighly louder. Acton 3 is also significantly clearer for vocal.

Are the open run pro 2 waterproof / sweatproof

He right JBL flip 6 is good choice. I was buy JBL flip 6a and JBL charge 5 but flip 6 make me enjoy ever ❤

I always start my day with Corn Flakes. And yeah, the UBoom X simply cannot be beaten for the price. They equipped it with some pretty beefy woofers and letting Oluv tune it is a genius cheat code considering his lengthy experience in the music/audio industry. For future releases, if EarFun can keep up with the great sound and add some attractive design language to the mix they could really go far.

Would you like to do a comparison video between some of the "cylinder" shaped portable speakers that are currently on the market. Like Sony ULT Field 1, Tribit stormbox 2, Earfun uboom L, JBL flip 6, etc?

Your EQ setup for the speakers were messed up and wrong.

If you need to modify the EQ so much then you don’t have a good product. EQ and stuffs are for big speaker systems. If portables need EQ help right out of the box then I’m sorry but they are failing.
