Hey mate, you can get the boat from Portimao to Ferragudo very close, lovely little fishing village. And then from there just up the road to Carveiro is a lovely town you can google.

Thanks for the tip! We've had a few people mention Ferragudo so we'll definitely have to check that out next time. A video from Carvoeiro is up next!

Thank you for this video! I recently found your channel. My partner and I are heading to Portugal on Nov 26 and plan to do a day trip to Sintra. I've heard it isn't worth going inside the castle/palace. Well done. What was that first tropical/garden area you walked around? Did you do the Moorish Castle? or the Well? Thanks!!
@uncagedseekers9 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching! We did not go inside the Palace of Pena or the Moorish Castle, so we can't comment on those. But we do feel that it was definitely worth the day trip to see the town and hike up to the Palace of Pena, even just to see the outside. The views up there were amazing! Those gardens are at Vila Sassetti, which is part of the hiking trail up to Palace of Pena. You can find the trail by following the signs in town such as the one at 2:22 in the video. We definitely recommend making the hike up to the palace if you can, that was one of the highlights of our day. We hope you have a great trip!

Personally I always like to see information about public transportation when I watch a travel video, it's a big part of how I'll get around a new city when I visit. If it's not interesting to you that's okay, so we can just agree to disagree on your point of not needing facts. But aside from that, we do appreciate any feedback we can get and we'll consider your suggestions. We are a new channel with no prior experience filming or editing, so we're still trying to learn how to do this and see what works and what doesn't. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Really enjoyed your video and I want to start by saying thank you for trying to pronounce the names correctly, we value that, and also your criticism is very welcome because it is only the truth and often outside observations are important as long as done in a respectful manner as you did. The footage of the Sunset in Cascais was just amazing. I have to say though, that even if you're right about the prices, you could have saved a bit here and there. Next time you think of coming to Lisbon, and I hope you do, compare the prices in high and low season as we often have good weather in low season (and fewer crowds). Hope you had a great time here in Lisbon.
@uncagedseekersАй бұрын
Thanks for the support! And yes, we are definitely aware we didn't do things in the cheapest possible way. Sometimes when we want to see as much of a new place as we can in a short amount of time it can be worth spending a bit more. For example eating in a more expensive touristy area rather than walking far away to save a little bit. The main reason for sharing our budget was just that we thought it might be helpful to other travelers. Overall we had a great time in Lisbon and we would love to go back! You have a good point about the low season, we will definitely consider that when we have a chance to return in the future.

As a portugueses i am so sorry about your experience, as far as the prices are concerned there is no possible excuse and the same about the housing. People got greedy and i am ashamed that for 2 days you spent só much. I wouldn' t be surprise if tourists penalized Portugal and started to not come to Lisboa. Also , about you having felt not completely safe, portugueses government has not been able to ( or don' t care enough) to solve the housing problem or to provide immigrants conditions to stay in the country in a humanitarian and dignified way. So, so sorry.
@uncagedseekersАй бұрын
No need to be sorry! Overall we had a very positive experience. We liked Lisbon and we would love to return one day. We just wanted to include those comments at the end to share our full experience and not exclusively the good sides. Every place has its own pros and cons. Plus we definitely understand these issues affect the locals more than tourists. Tourists are probably even the cause of some of the cost of living issues. Thanks for watching!

@alexandrapatricio2727Ай бұрын
@@fatimaSM236 não é uma questão de querer um turismo barato, é apenas ter consciencia de que é errado pagar 600 euros por 2 dias em lisboa.

One of my Favourite places in Europe. Simply because of it's Superb Central Location. I've been there, many times. Straight across the Road/Footbridge over the Arade River. You'll find the Dainty little Seaside Fishing Village of Ferragudo. Well worth the 40 minute walk. The views of Portimao, from it's Hilltop Church, are amazing! Then there's the other wee Town of, Alvor. On the Praia Da Rocha side of Portimao. The walk along the Rustic-cliffs is amazing. And a short Train ride west of the City. Gets you to Lagos. Castle and all. The Algarve has definitely got some of the Best Beaches in Europe. Everyone should pay a visit to Portimao/Praia Da Rocha! They won't be disappointed. Neat Vlog, Kiddo's...x
@uncagedseekersАй бұрын
We completely agree! We were so glad we chose to stay in Portimao primarily due to the central location. It was very easy to get around the region and visit all the places we wanted to see. More Algarve videos coming soon. And yes, the beaches are amazing! Thanks for watching!

You eat sandwiches in pricy places. Get to local, non-turistic places and the prices will come down and quality of food will go up. Missing the food in Portugal is missing one of the strongest points.

The amount of money you spend is really a lot comparing to what you've been offered during your stay and we can tell that's vital because Portugal is also an expensive country, I highly recommend you using Airbnb for finding rooms, apartments or even studios with very reasonable prices

Please try to understand, before the pandemic there were four times fewer homeless people in Lisbon, crime was low, refugees and illegal immigrants arriving in Europe by boat, In recent years, almost a million Brazilians have arrived in Portugal and many have not been able to succeed and were left homeless. Crime and the drug comsumption is increasing and skyrocket and many say it is due to the completely open door policy and mass immigration. What's more, the thousands of Expats and Digital Nomads who went to Lisbon with better salaries, sent many people to the streets and others to the suburbs. I think it's fair to say that the people you saw in the city center selling flour and pressed rosemary are Gypsies and they are only there because tourists buy , the day they stop buying, they will disappear. And the pickpockets on Tram 28 are almost all Romanians and Moldovans. I'm sorry, but it's the truth!!! I can tell you some cities with more homeless people, Paris, Rome, London, Athens, Naples, among others, It's a trend, unfortunately.

Just for the record you were offered "fake drugs". All those people offering you drugs are scammers, they have no actual drugs on them : the pils they offer are often aspirin and "weed" is in the best scenario dried bay leaf, or just very dried grass from the closest garden. And it is exactly because of having no actual drugs that they are confortable approaching people, because if you call the police, they have nothing illegal on them.
