It almost hurts to see you make this beautiful, immaculately crafted, rustic beast, with wood working skills I can only dream to even match ~1/4 of when I finally assemble my own cab...only to see an LCD screen used for it. I'd highly recommend putting a CRT with component, S Video or SCART input and getting it set up for 240p video if you can fit it. I am 95% sure the Pi is capable of 240p. But even as it is, fantastic work.
@WoodenItBeGrand5 күн бұрын
Thanks for the compliments & the feedback. It's always appreciated. I would definitely love to one day build a CRT cab as close to original as I could get, so I do feel your pain. But I barely had room in the house to keep this cabinet and the extra depth with the CRT would have put me out on the streets! The cabinet would have been a lot deeper. Cheers!

I don’t believe you said or I missed it. But do you happen to have plans. I’d really love to get some. Thank You.

All good. Yes, there's a link for the plans that I based this off in the description. There's a few different designs there to choose from. This was based off the Mame 2 Player Upright. Good luck with your build!! 🪛

Now THERE is an arcade cabinet that would look right at home in your mancave/home pub. Fantastic job!
@WoodenItBeGrand5 күн бұрын
Thank you so much! And you're right, but now I've got to find/build a man cave that's not the shed! Cheers for watching. 🍻

aren't you supposed to never ever EVER stick anything else on a saw table? Like using a stick to push the other wood through it?
@WoodenItBeGrandАй бұрын
Not sure exactly which part of the video you're referring to, but if you mean the magnetic guide bearing I use, all that is doing is giving me a repeatable thickness. It's placed well before the blade avoiding pinching at the front, the splitter is in place behind the blade to avoid pinching at the back, and the main bulk of the piece is still pushed up against the fence. If you're talking about the actual pushstick itself, I use lots of different pushsticks, from composite microjig models, to wood ones I've cut. But when it comes down to it, I do every thing as safely as I can to avoid injury. I hope that answers your question. Thanks for bringing it up! 👍🏻

Some pallets also have smooth sheets of plywood over the top to slide loads off and on with ease. This type of pallet would also benifit a cabinet build.
@WoodenItBeGrandАй бұрын
For sure! It could have been used in the base, the keyboard tray, and even furring strips. Great idea! Cheers. 👍🏻

you could have saved yourself a massive amount of work by just buying an led long bulb from amazon for 3 dollars and screwing it in for the marque.

Yes, I could have. But I already have a stack of these LED strips sitting around doing nothing. Cheers for the alternative though.

You should be proud Jamie, that's some beautiful work. I wouldn't worry about not making many vids, the ones you do are better filmed and edited than the majority of maker content out there! You are getting at least 3x the views of mine with 1/3 the subs. That's a great ratio.
@WoodenItBeGrand9 ай бұрын
Thanks for the kind words James, and I truly appreciate your support. For most of us it still feels like we're making videos because we love to share, so as long as it stays that way for me I'll be happy. Although a silver play button would put me in the cool club with Jesper & Dainsey! 😂😂😂 Aspirations.
