Howaz the elevation gain for bike segment?
@RecoveryLabTV
@RecoveryLabTV 12 күн бұрын
Here’s the profile for the bike course: 112.4 Miles | 165ft Peak | 1,696ft Elevation | 4.6% Steepest Climb - 1/4 Mile Long. Here in Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 we have a lot of hills. So, IRONMAN Estonia 🇪🇪 isn’t too bad tbh with you. Are you thinking about doing it?

Thank you for your feedback Karen. I’m really glad you enjoyed the video & hope you continue to enjoy more as they’re uploaded. I’ve been competing in Ironman for 8+ years now and the funny thing regarding your comment is that the only time I’ve been hit by a car was when I was in full Hi-visibility gear, with lights on my bike (front & back) & helmet. I appreciate what you’re saying but there are lots more elements in play when it comes to road awareness & safety. Stay safe & I wish you a merry Christmas 🎄

@@RecoveryLabTV The brand name was called "Progressive". Im sure many of them are good but this one was one that was available and fairly high quality. There's regular vege which is still good and then there a vege mix with more fruit supplementation in it that helps a lot with energy metabolism. Mate, I go through the exact same thing. Throwing myself into socialising or make a goal chart for yourself and give yourself a treat when you've ticked off that goal. Yes, it's like training yourself like a dog, but eventually, it does work. Fluoxetine antidepressants help give me a bit more energy, too. Also if you're diagnosed with ADHD, you should be able to get amphetamine based meds from your doctor... 😉
@RecoveryLabTV
@RecoveryLabTV 2 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for your reply Benjamin! Truly appreciate your openness and honesty. Sometimes it’s nice to know that you’re not the only one going through these experiences and emotions. For me, I find it a hard but necessary time. You need the down time to process everything you’ve experienced throughout the year so that you’re able to learn and grown from them but also the break in habit, lack of routine, lack of reward / dopamine, etc can make it incredibly hard. Plus I find the extra time can often be filled with over thinking which sometimes isn’t the best. I’ve also noticed and started to question recently, “am I programming” myself for these feelings and setting myself up for this endless cycle ♻️ and should I look to reframe this period of the year in a more positive light, giving myself other tasks to focus on which may help both my overall growth and me cope a little better with this period of the year. Does that make sense?! Sorry to ask, but what’s your experiences with ADHD medications & antidepressants? Have you found them beneficial? Personally I have had bad experiences with medications as a child. I was young when I was diagnosed and didn’t like taking them because they made me feel different & was quite often pinned down and forced to take them, which often made me feel even worse, dirty and violated almost. Leading me to learn other ways to deal with & control my ADHD. I tend to set a lot of environmental controls that tend to influence my behaviour & mood. But it’s hard at times. People don’t really see the amount of work & energy that goes into it all… But, we keep trying & move forward as best as we can! Hope you’re having a great day! ☀️

Congrats man!! I want to do this next year, as Ironman ireland may not be returning. In training, how fast were you able to do the swim bike and run ??
@RecoveryLabTV
@RecoveryLabTV 3 ай бұрын
Thank you buddy! It's a real shame about Ireland as it was a great race and the atmosphere was equally as great! Hopefully it returns soon in some format. In regards to my training, I'm usually a 1:10 distance swimmer, 6:30 bike and the run is usually my weakest so I tend to run at a 6:30 min/km pace. This year in the build up to this I completed my first continuous triple Ironman, so did a lot of zone 2 pace work. I only had 6 weeks to prepare for Ironman Wales so didn't have the opportunity to add much pace development work, only 4 weeks really. In a normal Ironman programme there would be much more race specific development. Will this be your first Ironman next year?
