Im going through a major bout of depression right now and had the iconic microwave potato for the first time in my life last week. I don't know if I've had my soul elevated by a singular potato like that ever before. I wanted to get some inspiration from this video but I don't think I can afford to try anything new that I might end up disliking rn so I'll be toughing it out with huge portions of rice and beans until I have an income again.

HOLY SMOKES i forgot about the microwave potato! That's ol trusty right there! I don't have a microwave anymore but a microwave is obviously a great thing to have. i totes get the budget constraints. i forgot to mention, but the udon is about $6 for those 5 servings -- if you already know that you like udon, that would be the one I would first get to try. rice is definitely cheaper but I still wanted to mention that. best of luck with everything, i'm sure you are doing your best!

Yeah 100% Even just looking for attention itself is valid and should be reason enough to start a channel and start this type of online journal of your own journey. We all want to be heard and validated and that allows us to share and create connections with others I think. I've always had that tendency to feel required to justify to myself or others as to why I should need attention, no matter how little or in what capacity, otherwise I feel weird about it.

Okay so true! The concept of us all being mirrors of each other makes so much sense here. Like my desire here reflects the desire of others!!

Please listen to the new tracey brakes album, "my twee monsters", it shares the hyperpop texture with 100 gecs but is really emotional and has beautiful lyrics and themes. It's so cohesive in the world it creates with sounds and feels far far ahead of its time and is so enjoyable all the way through if you like the hyperpop/digicore sound
@mudsouptimeКүн бұрын
Holy smokes THANK YOU for this rec! I am listening right now and it's SO GOOD!!!!
@miscellaneousmedia37534 күн бұрын
Brat itself is not really hyperpop at all, it's really an homage to that Y2K dance-pop/club era musical feel, but still cool that Charli led you into it; 100 Gecs is definitely an acquired taste, I fw some songs and not others, but they really scratch that brain itch. Good poignant commentary overall as well I saw 100 Gecs live once and they were really fun honestly, just chill musicians who are just having fun with it. Doritos and Fritos, hand crushed by a mallet, mememe, their popular singles are really great, but then even some deeper cuts or underrated ones like xXXi_wud_nvrstøp_ÜXXx, bloodstains, 757, or Haunted (not a "deep cut" by any means though lol) by Laura Les (half of the gecs duo), just truly create that satisfying brainworm for me
@mudsouptime4 күн бұрын
hello there! thanks for watchin!! is the rest of charli's discography considered hyperpop, you think? i LOVE how i'm feeling now!! also, wow that's so neat, i'm so jelly that you got to see gecs live! i definitely want to next time they're touring. they just seem real asf and like they're having fun -- which honestly seems a bit rare these days? at least with all the recent shows i've been to!

I assume when youtube gurus say to find a niche they are talking about playing the algorithm. It sounds to me like you will produce things that fit into lots of different niches, and if you want to become successful on youtube in 2024 (not that you necessarily should want to) you should focus on one of your niches that seems to be popular. If you don't care about success then do whatever you feel like, it sounds like it could be much more fulfilling for you in its own way. I think niches are spaces that audiences and creators can cluster in, which can be useful to audiences for finding content they'll like and creators for building audiences. It is, in a way, not human, but a mechanical concept that we map human behavior onto.
@mudsouptime4 күн бұрын
Wow thank you for this comment! i've actually been thinking about this a lot since posting this video. it feels like this connection between niches and success is a manifestation of a world built for neurotypical folks. so for folks with brains that operate differently, success while staying true to this niche-less nature ("scatter" brain) is not really seen as possible. it makes me think of how shifting to a world where people with all different types of brains can thrive without feeling deprived or like they're sacrificing part of themselves is not going to be a clean shift, but is certainly one that I think should be aspired towards as in, being the niche-less person maybe needs to be normalized more? i've been watching a lot of ayandastood's videos and she talks about multi-passionate people and it's really fascinating to see how she has an audience of people that resonate with this sort of despair of "how can i ever choose between all my interests??" anyway, i totally see the importance of niches too! eep! everything is so nuanced, always

I got an ADHD and Autism diagnosis 2 years ago. This year I was working a baking job (mainly pastries) after almost 4 years of working in tech. I never thought about it from an autism perspective but the stimulation from being on my feet and working with my hands non stop for 7-8 hours a day made a huge positive difference for my ADHD brain. Had to quit eventually because the pay was not sustainable long term and I might go back to tech if I don't find another baking job that actually pays decently. Fingers crossed I guess Anyway you seem like a very kind soul and I hope you continue making videos 💜
@mudsouptime7 күн бұрын
Sorry to hear that the pay was dust but so wonderful that you were able to discover that this type of work is a good fit (pay aside)! My fingers are also crossed for you. It really does depend on your city and honestly timing of when you are looking for jobs, but there are indeed baking jobs out there that pay well. Having your experience would definitely help, I imagine. I'm rooting for you! And thank you for your kind words :-)

Do you feel like you are masking when you video yourself? Also what is your experience with people telling you you're not autistic when you've discovered that about yourself? I'm like you, a "people pleaser" and so people's opinions sometimes matter too much and I find it really discouraging.
@mudsouptime7 күн бұрын
Hello! Honestly I could make a video answering your questions... but will also give you a written answer right now too! To the first question, short answer: sort of? Masking feels really complex to me, because when you've been doing it your whole life, it kind of integrates into your personality. I'm not totally sure what me with 0% mask even looks like. I definitely try to minimize masking, though, because I want KZbin to be fun and trying to be something I'm not will make me unwilling to continue posting. The first few videos I made felt really awkward and I definitely felt hyperaware of my mannerisms and voice. For example, I don't usually speak super fast and -- with my ADHD -- don't really stick to topics in a linear way. Interestingly enough, however, I feel like making more videos has allowed me to explore how I am without a mask (or with minimal mask, I guess). Not editing my videos, especially, really helps me to explore this. I think part of why making KZbin videos is effective for this is because I'm speaking out loud. Masking, in my opinion, really tends to be employed when we are expressing ourselves verbally rather than in written form. So speaking out loud in videos allows me to practice speaking without masking. Okay, so I was totally planning on typing out an answer to your second question, but after writing so much for the first one, I think I'm going to just make a video for that one! I have so many thoughts! Thank you for your questions and giving me the opportunity to self-reflect!!

Not everyone has a niche. The part where ur describing having that 1 thing that you talk about, think about, etc 24/7, is something a small percentage of the population has. Surrounding identity, most people have a few hobbies. Perhaps those hobbies could be niche, but its not necessary.
@mudsouptime7 күн бұрын
That totally makes sense. For me, it can feel like everyone has their "thing" but I think my experiences in education have definitely impacted this perception.

AI enables machines to learn and make decisions like humans, such as how Siri understands voice commands, while KZbin algorithms just follow pre-set rules to recommend content.
