First time home owner here, this was amazing. Thank you! I almost thought we have to call a chimney cleaner but this little trick got the fireplace going in minutes! I used the extra fire starters to get a roaring fire going as well.

We got horrible smoke from our wood stove on start up and resorted to getting a small torch and sticking it in the box for about a minute or two and usually that does the trick. If I dont do that, it fills our 2 story house with heavy smoke.

What woild cause my unit to shut down and start beebing every time i try to run it in Smart Mode? I can keep the unit running when i have it turned On, on the On setting. But every time we trying running it in smart mode setting it turns off. Ive changed the batteries with brand new purchased batteries 4 times now. Both on the unit and remote.

Very important for wood burning stoves while camping too! If you're somewhere cold and you're lighting your wood burning stove up in the middle of the night because you're cold, absolutely use a small fire starter for a few minutes first to warm up the pipe, otherwise you're fill your tent with smoke like I did the first time 😅

can you explain what you meant by 'shutting down the fire to get a long burn'? thank you by the way, I went to Ace and bought these squares, they did work, but I still seem to get a lot of smoke coming into my house when I do open the fireplace - it was just cleaned, and I'm wondering if the tech had somehow blocked the baffle with the bricks at the top...guess I need to get a flashlight and get dirty...

You need to make a video on why the thermostat icon will not come on. I phoned my dealer where I bought it and they said it was defective. I just used it the way it was but was frustrated the thermostat would not show. Today, I lucked out and found a video on the net the shows how to get it working. Very simple. Turn off remote. Pull one battery out. Press and hold thermostat while replacing battery and voila the thermostat come on. Here is the Url: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r6iZYoqMbK2haKc

I recently replaced my remote, but as soon as I resynched it to the receiver, now the side burners don’t fire. The middle burner starts fine. It’s a row of three seperate burners. Frustrating as there is no information on this. Tried going back to manual non remote mode but even that doesn’t fix it. All three burners were working fine until I replaced the remote........any ideas ?
@connorkostadt76643 жыл бұрын
Update - the new remote had an icon missing. Found a KZbin clip that showed how to reset or re-enable missing icons. That did the trick and all burners now operating. Saved me a service call. The power of KZbin !

Ours worked reliably for about a decade but now it just randomly shuts off from time to time. By that I mean the stove shuts off every couple of days. The remote continues to display as normal but has to be turned off and then on again for the stove to respond and fire back up. We've tried all new batteries everywhere but that doesn't help. I also have the stove switched to Continues Pilot. It operates longer between shut downs if left in thermostat OFF mode with just the single flame/burner on. In SMART or ON mode it will only operate for about a day before the stove turns off again even though the remote is still 'on'. Does this sound like a remote that needs to be replaced or some service work that needs to be done on the stove?

The internal controller died after 18 months so had it replaced under warranty. 100.00. Barely used it and 8 months later the replaced internal controller went bonkers. Fan turned on high by itself, making crackles, despite being off for weeks. Couldn’t shut it off so removed fuses to force shut down. Fan stopped immediately after removing fuses but a crackle started and ended in an electrical explosion that cut the power to part of the house. I don’t recommend this product.

So can I buy direct from the factory, or do I need to deal with the local dealers that dont know the difference between a wood stove and a barbecue?. . .I would just assume go direct.
@TheNortheastAl4 жыл бұрын
Catalytic wood stoves require dry seasoned wood that is 20% moisture or less. That usually takes about two years of seasoning, and three years for Oak. Use the moisture meter they give you by taking a split and split it once again. On the freshly exposed side of the split test the moisture content with the meter.if it’s over 20% it needs to dry longer. This is usually the solution to many problems people have.

This was a great help! My stove doesn't have a baffle like in the video, so I stuck a fire starter chunk on the end of a sharp iron tool, held it up into the chimney. It took just maybe two minutes, and the fire started beautifully . I burned only a portion of the starter, so I blew it out and can use it again. Thank you for this tip!!
@lh985 жыл бұрын
What about little to no draft when the fire has been going for hours and hours? Open the door to put wood in or check the fire and smoke always comes out a lot. Flue is clean pipe is clean... These designs for the smoke to go up the back of the stove then over the top of a metal wall then down into the pipe and then back up the pipe really don't draft well on their own. What's the fix?? Longer and higher piping on the roof or some type of blower added to the pipe??
@TheNortheastAl4 жыл бұрын
Long and taller flue is one thing you can do. The other is to open the draft fully and slowly open the door to reload. It should work most of the time. Also, if it is above 50° or so, the draft will be minimal.
@alansach8437 Жыл бұрын
Clogged chimney cap is one possibility in addition to the suggestions in the other comment here. Make sure the chimney is at least two or three feet taller than the highest point on the roof. Open the flue, turn the thermostat to maximum and unlatch but don't open the door until what's left of the fire is burning good (or coals are red hot). Then open the door.
