Okay, let's be real here, and let me ask a question. How many entry jobs will you find as a Cloud Administrator? CCNA will get you your first job overwhelmingly.
@trevspires
@trevspires 4 күн бұрын
@@josephjefferson6368 i think there’s some truth to this point A lot of networking roles involve a lot of physical work like racking/stacking and patching/running cables. Many people use that opportunity to work their way up. But cloud is also more relevant than its event been. So I think even for entry level, it’s a good way to be relevant for the workforce

My first real dev job I got 2 years out of university, at this startup that delivers system integrations through a homemade platform. I worked for 3 years as a developer, mainly writing integration scripts on the platform, while often working with the clients in discussing the implementation requirements. After this I was ‘promoted’ to the SA ‘team’ which was really just one of the seniors. I’ve been working as an SA there now a year and a half, and I mostly enjoy it. Primarily my duty is translating how a customer desires their data to flow between their systems into a technical specification for the dev team. The main thing I worry about though, is that my expertise and work experience is too specialized for this platform and type of work, that if I were to try to get any other SA job, that I would not have the knowledge or business acumen to deliver good work, and that if I were to go back to dev I would also not have as much knowledge as someone with my experience should (since I’ve mostly just been writing scripts and not doing any real system work). Since it’s a startup too, there’s a lot of work on not a lot of people, so there isn’t that much time or opportunity to do any general course/certificate work either, or a lot of money they can put into such either… my salary is also quite low compared to other SAs in my area. Would love if anyone has any advice on my situation or have been in something similar before. Maybe I’m overestimating the skill and experience that is required, just makes me worry about if I’m making a good decision staying here, but I love the people and I have faith in our product.

The Cisco study volumes are straightforward and have a lot of study material. I keep hearing to must lab and in the intro, it stresses the same thing.

Hi Trevor. Is it appropriate to check interviewers’ profile on LinkedIn? During loop interview, I am thinking of asking a question about their career development at Amazon and the reason why they changed direction (if any). For example from engineering to product manager. I want to get to know better about the company culture, but worried these questions might make me sound unsure with the position I am applying.

I have a Mirrorless camera with a Summilux 25mm 1.4 motorized lens, as well as a LUMIX 20mm auto. I see that your mid Elgato $279 option specifies in their manual no Motorized lenses, only threaded ones. Does your premium number 1 option for $600 allow for motorized lenses? I see you mentioned using a 16-50 and it looks to be motorized. Any issue with using a motorized lens with the premium setup?

Hello, 3 days after my Amazon LOOP interview, I received an Email from the recruiter congratulating me on the positive feedback for my interview, but unfortunately unable to offer me the position because someone else filled the position. I noticed that the position was no longer available even before my LOOP. They said that they will put me in the bench pool and that if available position comes, they will contact all the people in the bench pool before making the position public. I am worried, hope they will remember to get back to me? I practiced really so hard for this LOOP

I'm not an expert and just sharing my thoughts based on what you've said, so take what I say with a grain of salt... I imagine that they take it seriously and you are still in a good position. Think of it like an intense background check for a security clearance. You basically just went through their (Amazon's) vetting process and they've deemed you a favorable candidate, they literally just didn't have the position when you got the green light. It costs Amazon time and money to take a whole day off to investigate and verify that you are of adequate quality and meet their defined culture/LPs. The ONLY way for them to recoup that lost time/money and make it worthwhile would be to not interview someone else off the street for a similar role (and risk them not being able to meet their standards) and instead give it to the pool of candidates that have already been through the ringer and have been deemed favorable. Another thing to consider as well is if you noticed that the position was already closed before your interview, Amazon could have said "no thanks" to your loop and went on about their day, but they still took the time to interview you. Now, again, I could be dead wrong and that they could literally just be horribly disorganized, but im willing to bet that they are most definitely still interested in you, especially since you already have the "seal of approval" so to speak. Hope you get what you want man! Congrats on the favorable results! Be proud of that accomplishment. I've been told it can be challenging.

I had practiced with one of Directors of Product at Amazon my behavioural. He actually recommend to have 4 strong master (big) stories. But, you have to be able to adjust those master stories to 1) all leadership principles and to 2) the question itself. So you have extract only relevant situations/context from those master stories with high relevance to the question and to the leadership principle interviewer wanted to test you by asking this particular question. So the best way - to think about stories and make a list of question relevant to all principles and try to answer those questions based on all of those stories. So you could mix stories from interviewer to intervier to not repeat the same experince to all interviewers in different calls.

Honestly, I dont have a framework other than "Adapt to your customer" The answer to your question isn't static. Its highly variable depending on the WHO Sometimes, a design isn't necessary at all. Sometimes, you are diving into feature/functions with builders. It makes the job hard, but also its awesome.

Thanks for the wonderful and informative video. I can't agree more that your content has always been helpful. I have 15 years of experience as a Java Developer and I have worked on variety of Java Front End and backend technologies right from Swing and MV* frameworks , Struts 1.2 , Ejb 2.0 till Spring. Also Worked in Cloud roughly in 2012 and then back since 2019. My question to you is that is it really worth doing a certification or have working knowledge and hands on for AWS ?. I have met a lot of developers who say that they have completed the Aws Certifications. some have even completed 6 of them. But when it comes to working on the production environment and handling real world scenarios , not even one of them succeeded and all were struggling. I do not have any certification from AWS. but I still lead a team of developers and mostly I have to pull them out from these issues by using my limited knowledge. This has worked for me for more than 5 years now. Please let me know if I should still do the certification and which certification to do.. Some specific or the one which has a broader coverage . Thanks in advance

@@trevspires Pointless because people are providing false information. Lying. I would prefer to be questioned about my experience in a conversational style because I have seen too many great Amazon employees who did not get the job only because their replies were not in STAR order. How stupid that is! If the people who were interviewing them just asked specific questions they would have gotten the information they needed. At the same time right now I work with a manager at Amazon who is my partner who told me she lied and made up stories to get the job. She is not qualified for the job you know why? Because she does not possess the skills she described in her fairy tales to those who interviewed her.

@@trevspires It's useless for the company. When the stories you are telling during the interview are never verified it opens up Pandora's box when you are hiring liars without claimed experience and achievements, besides the skill of telling fake stories.
@GalaxySportGaming
@GalaxySportGaming Ай бұрын
@@oladiamonds Yes. "Could you tell me about your experience? What have you done in the past, how, when, who can I ask about it?" As an HR or any other company employee interviewing me try to investigate what I can or cannot do. Ask questions in a regular friendly conversation and try to get specific answers that you need to make the final decision. Ask for references to verify information. Ask questions to filter out liars because when you realize you hired a liar without the skills you were looking for you would spend even more time and money to get another one.

Hey there! I'm part of a team who's trying to implement Bedrock with a particular task of assigning data from one source in the knowledge base to another source in the same knowledge base. Something we've been noticing with Agents is that they tend to become more and more inaccurate with the more data is stored in the knowledge base. I was wondering if you had any advice on improving accuracy? We've also been looking at their finetuning service they offer, but are not sure if that would offer any significant improvement in accuracy for our particular RAG Agent.
