-The thing there is a Lion is a wild animal and it managed to get a kill. The last thing a lion needs is something else being so close while it’s eating. Meaning the intruder is you. Back off don’t stay there gawking let the wild animal do what’s it meant to do. By being nearby you are a threat and it will charge at you too.

I don’t understand why people can’t tell when an animal is baring its teeth at you, it’s giving you a warning. They’re showing you their teeth to scare you off by showing you the damage they can do to you. Even if you’re not intending to intimidate them, baring teeth is a sign that the basic fight or flight instinct in that animal is about to flip, and if you don’t leave them alone, they will jump into fight or flight mode (and animals that bare their teeth are almost always going to go into fight mode, prey animals won’t bother with warning others away like that, they’ll just run). The fact that a lion is looking directly at you and baring its teeth means it’s not attacking you, yet, it’s giving you a chance to back away and leave them alone, and they’ll leave you alone. When you ignore their warning, then there’s no more games or chances. Sure there was a fence (this time) but that lion could’ve easily jumped over that if he wanted to, that was like 3 feet tall.
