Charne & Divan Wedding Film - DJI Ronin S with Fujifilm X-H1

It's here!! We finally got our DJI Ronin S and was able to shoot a wedding on it. Best decision ever. The DJI Ronin S is a fantastic gimbal with an amazing app that allows for precision calibration on the go! We are super happy with the results we got from the DJI Ronin S. Our Zhiyun Crane 2 will now be used by our second shooter. Which is still in its own way a great gimbal.

Entire wedding shot on my Fujifilm X-H1 as main camera and Fujifilm X-T2 and second. The X-H1 was mounted on the DJI Ronin S with the Fujifilm X-H1's in body IS working with the Ronin S.
We shot in Fujifilms new F-Log and color graded as best we could with our limited color grading skills. As I used to in the past on shoot Classic Chrome and not color grade its still a learning curve,
I shoot at 60fps as I like to slow everything down for that dramatic and cinematic effect. Some shots we do shoot on Fujifilms new 120fps simulated mode.
Most of the wedding was filmed on the Fujifilm 35mm f1.4 lens and the Fujifilm 90mm f2 lens.

There is no such option yet. We use the Ronin purely for stabilization.

@@DawidBotha Thank you so much for the reply. I have 35mm 1.4 as well but often times I failed at focusing. Does the wide F affect the focus?

@@hellophoto2456 Just make sure your camera is set on continous focus and your AF-C Custom Settings is on number 3. As for the F-stop I usually shoot at f1.4 for a lot of background blurr. I use a variable ND to compensate.

I just watched your other videos yesterday to get some inspiring Fuji Wedding Film materials. I love your honesty in the description about the grading etc. You did a great job! Do you think the XH1 adds more to the stability of the shots even using a Ronin S? Thank you for this.

Hi Atilla, Thanks so much for your comment. Yes I would say that the XH1 adds a little more stability to the Ronin S. These kind of gimbals are great but far from perfect. So every little bit of stabilization helps. Especially with the up and down motion of walking. The Xh1 assists well with this.

Oh well, i just ordered an XT3 with the 15-88 OIS Kit lens and I hope to get some usable footage out of that OIS without IBIS and Gimbal, for now at least. It can be shaky, but should be a compensated shake footage if you get what I mean. Let's see. :)

I havent used the XT3 yet, however Fujifilm is sending me one to play with soon. I do think any lens with OIS makes a big difference and acts very much like the IBIS on the gimbal. I mostly shoot with prime lenses that doesn't have OIS so the IBIS is a little more important on my side. But as long as you have a OIS lens on it should works great!!

you are amazing!!! i thought i was the only photographer that shoot videos with fyji. i have just 1 question. who do you stay in focus!!! with the 35 on the gimble so goodddd???? what method of auto focus do u use? touch screen? joystick? is the focus motor on the 35 1.4 is good for the gimbel?

Thanks so much for your awesome comment. We just use continuous autofocus. We set the sensitivity to about medium though. The 35mm 1.4 is great on the gimbal. Dont the the 35mm f2 as the focus motor isnt good at all. Stick with the 1.4
