Andy was a great man. I would always go into Trailhead Supply and he would provide me with routes, campsites, etc located in the Bob. I still have lead ropes he made. He will be missed.

I learned how to do this at Swan Mountain, south of Kalispel by an hour. I'm an office guy, so I need all the refreshers I can get!! Thanks Andy.

Hard to find info on these. I bought one upon the recommendation of other campers. It's bulky compared to other lightweight chairs, but it's also taller and easy to setup and takedown. The regular size fits me fine at 6'3". More like a stool with a back than the reclined positions of most chairs. I don't know if I'd like it as my only chair, but it's a nice to have two different styles when in a group. Made in USA is a big plus and it's reasonably priced. Update: Took this for a week in the BWCA along with a Big Agnes Big 6 and Trekology Helinox knockoff. This was the most used chair in camp due to its tall upright seating position. Not as comfy for reclining as the Big 6 but we found we didn't like being reclined as much as we assumed we would.

Please encourage people to use jute or muslin rope instead of twine. Twine is left all over our wilderness areas when they break

Thank you SO much for this crucial video! We just finished a 135 mile pack burro trip with the piggin strings you made for us and they worked fantastically!!

If you ALWAYS use hard side plastic panniers (high country) is a half breed necessary?
@TrailheadSupply
@TrailheadSupply 4 жыл бұрын
No, you don't need a half breed. It is another layer of protection for your animal so we always use them. The side board on the half breed is designed to disperse the weight of whatever you are packing (hard pack box or any other load) so that it's not a pressure point on the side of your animal. So, required...no, recommended, yes.

I love my peggins strings. So happy with the two i got. Addng the brake-away helped be able to use the pegging string on my western saddle . im using a western saddle as a sawbuck. Thank you so much trail head. You guys rock.

That is one of my questions....I user an over the saddle pannier for my western saddles since I ride after I pack in. Do the "Peggins strings" work on a western saddle? I assume you attach them to your cinch rings and the loop is behind the cantle? Doesnt seem the like the pull would be pulling the cinch up, instead it would be pulling it to the rear but maybe not? What is your experience?

How is the pigging string attached to the cinch rings on each side? Is it snapped or tied ?
@davedonkey9540

David Harris usually braided.
@johnhutcheson8869

@@davedonkey9540 By braided am guessing you mean "eye spliced" with the ring inside the eye on both sides of the saddle (I can do that) , but then the two 3/8 ' lines pass thru the back riggin ring on top of the decker and come together and form another eye splice. I am clueless what that looks like or how to do it. Is there a youtube video out there ? Just need a little help. TKS !

I think I answered my own question...figure out the length of rope, double it, eye splice / braid each end into the saddle riggin ring both sides (near and offside), tie an overhand / figure eight back near the hip pad. I have a header ring in my hip pad.....so the question now is....do I stop before I get to the header ring or come through ?? depends on where we want the lead rope??

I think we want it closer to the saddle . Thinking out loud is hard.

Well, I clicked on your link to purchase the chair at your website. Searched your site for "roll a chair" - no results. Then searched for "camptime roll a chair" - no results. Do you HAVE the chair? Then what should I search for to find it at your website?

It's now back in stock, they had some manufacturing issues for a few years, but we now carry it again.
