That icky Lord Clareclift will not take a hint will he? Izzy avoids him like the plague so how stupid is he? He even insults her interest in plants. She should bore him by pronouncing the scientific name for every single plant and talk endlessly about their lifecycles. Why is Margaret trying to pour her own bitterness onto Izzy and trying to control her? Hooray for Clifton the wonderful Butler who speaks the truth. The Epilogue was exactly what I thought would happen and it was beautifully written. But I am sad at Sally’s match although I understand it would have been advantageous. It was a great series and now I feel like I am not ready to say goodbye to these four couples.

One hour left to this story and I seriously want to slap Nathan. He has spent nearly every day for over 6 months in Justinas company and instead of having the guts to tell her how he feels he says that?!? Does he not realise that his “decision” shows him as unchanged. Arrrrgh! I hate how neither of them will be honest about their feelings. However that was the BEST ending with tension mounting all the time. The imagery and experiences of India were beautifully captured and the pronunciation perfect. I like the way Nathan matured as a man through illness on the ship and appreciation of others kindness. Now how shall you reform the sarcastic Tierney I wonder.

Oh how special Mr and Mrs Dougherty are. Such support. Using the dungeon as a way to wake Ian up was a great idea. Little Gus calling Ian a “mangy pirate” while using the sword Ian made him was my favourite scene. And the ending was perfect. Ian is quite emotional and it is good to see the feelings he has wrestled with. We have been able to get to know him quite well.

A complicated but really enjoyable story. When Ian did not care enough to leave with Conrad he ought to have made a short attempt at explaining to Jess promising to return as himself if possible. Or he could have written a letter giving it to Lord Shearsby her cousin. If he was not so utterly focussed and attentive to her Conrad could have lost her completely. It was lovely to observe Conrad’s complete devotion from the beginning, a total contrast to Ian’s shallow flirtations. I love witty banter and I thoroughly enjoyed the “history” Mindy. Just picturing Lord Byron and Lord Wellington planning the Battle of Trafalgar in the green toga room makes me chuckle. My favourite scene was the one in her painting room and what Lady Rachel said. And your narrator Victoria Brazier is excellent. I love the smooth refined voice she used for Conrad. I am a new subscriber looking forward to more. Thanks for sharing.

You know what is a strange coincidence, this night I dreamed that my hair started falling out for some odd reason. It seemed so real! And the horror I experienced at that, also felt so real. But I was happy to wake up and realize it was only a dream. I have no idea why I dreamed that, I don't have any hair issues or hair-related insecurities, but you know how our unconsciousness is, it's strange and unpredictable. Then as I started my morning routine, I felt like a clean regency romance audiobook, and lo and behold, the first thing that popped up on my "for you" page, was this story 😂. I absolutely loved it. What a wonderful story. However, I would have never guessed it was loosely based on an "ugly duckling" story. The main heroine actually reminded me of my cousin's daughter. At one point, she also lost all her hair for no explainable reason. She wasn't having any health issues, it just happened. And the poor girl was also in her early teens, around 14 or 15. Imagine what that could do to a young developing mind. However, her hair did grow back within six months or so.

The narrator is really putting me off with her shrill tones and lack of distinction between characters. They all sound like shrill old ladies. Very disappointing.

Your books are wonderful. There is one part at 2:06:44 it skips part of the story the part where they are in the carriage or getting into it. Can that be fixed? Wonderful books!

I really enjoyed this story! Thank you for making it available! I don’t know whether there is any point in my making a comment about a small discrepancy about the color of Lily’s eyes. I didn’t note the specific spot in the story but near the beginning after Tim meets Lily for the first time he says to himself that he couldn’t remember whether her eyes were blue or green and when he saw her next he realized that they were a mixture of both. Then later in the story I believe Tim is looking at her and it says her eyes were chocolate. Not a big deal, just mentioning it in case it matters for future editions. 🙂
