Hi Sir Nik, I appreciate the work you do. it helps a lot. I would just like to ask if I create it as a component library, I cannot access the app scope, what can I do as a workaround? or can I only use this component inside the app scope? Thanks again!

Excellent video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I encountered the same issue: "Name isn't valid. 'varMenuOpen' isn't recognized." at 18:55. I found this parameter is defined when clicking the main menu button. I cannot use this parameter to set the component height. Question 2: The menuTheme and menuItems from the formulas cannot be used directly. I need to set a custom property to pass them in. Did I miss any steps?
@SandyZhao-Sunshine5 күн бұрын
May I ask another question, The top menu may result in the screen having white or blank content when the menu displays. Do you encounter this issue? or how to fix it.
@TheAnalystNik5 күн бұрын
Hi Sandy, glad you like the video! It's very important to turn on 'Access app scope' at 4:15. This allows you to pass variables between your app and your component. Hopefully this fixes the issue you are experiencing in setting the component height and passing the MenuTheme and MenuItems formulas. Cheers!

Appreciate your detailed instructions.

Hi thank you! Once you add the component to your screens, as long as it's on top of all your other items on that screen it will overlay. How have you set up your screens?

Could you create a part 2 of this series with additional features? Like A dashboard that includes cards displaying counts of newly created tasks, as well as completed tasks categorized by today, this week, this month, or even the entire year. A notification bell that, when clicked, shows users the status of their tasks (e.g., completed, in progress or still pending). A graph to track the progress of all projects. A search and filtering feature to quickly find specific tasks or projects based on status, date range, or other relevant criteria. I hope you consider these suggestions in the future. Thank you so much!

Thanks for sharing. How do i make it responsive? I was thinking of adding a Hamburger menu when the screen width is <400
@TheAnalystNik9 күн бұрын
You're welcome! In order to make it responsive you would have to hide the whole component if the screen width <400 and make a new hamburger menu visible. But you would have to design a new hamburger menu. Hope that works!

Hey Nik, thanks for an incredibly useful video, I’m new to power apps and have enjoyed coding along with video. One question if I can, when I collapse the side nav, the gallery just moves left with it leaving some blank space on the right hand side. Have I missed something that makes the gallery responsive and equally fills this area? Thank you!
@TheAnalystNik9 күн бұрын
Hi glad you liked it! Have you updated the Gallery alignment to Stretch? If you have a wide screen, it will have blank space to the right if you don't have too many Statuses so that is by design. Hope that helps! cheers
@ganyrehs13 күн бұрын
@24:34 I also turned on "Auto Height" for the text control (Nav name "Home, Tasks, Projects"). I was finding that when the Nav side bar is collapsed, click on a different icon, expand the nav bar, the text does not auto align centered and stays on top.

@@TheAnalystNik I'm not sure where I went wrong, but my app isn't mobile responsive. "Scale to Fit" is turned off, and almost everything is placed within containers. I tested with a blank screen, adding a vertical container inside a horizontal gallery, and it worked fine. However, it’s not working in this app. At timestamp 51:40 in your video, the expected behavior isn't happening. What specific things can I recheck? Please help!
@TheAnalystNik14 күн бұрын
Hmm that’s a hard one to know what might be missing. As long as your root container has a width of App.Width, and the containers inside have a Stretch Width, and the gallery has a width of Parent.Width, it should work. Did you follow the steps in the video exactly? Or are you trying to update one of your existing apps?

@TheAnalystNik16 күн бұрын
@@pongpaksubsirianan785 in order to do that, you can use the modern button which allows icons with text combo, otherwise you would have to create a container, insert an invisible button inside, then under the invisible button you would put an icon and text label. You could also just add a “+” in the text before the Create text. Hope one of those works out!
