Despite I'm really really low level player I still felt that something was wrong with 8:57 position. I saw a huge top right area and thought why couldn't we just extend up and use that absolutely *enormous* wall of ours I genuinely haven't seen a wall bigger and more secure than that one

This was a really fun one, wondering what the missing piece was gonna be. Hey, if you ever wanted an idea for a long video nobody but me would watch, theres a program called BadukAi that has 29x29 board options, I love it. More possibility, more choice, more territory to manage, and more time. It would be interesting to see how a high level guy's considerations change as the board scales up and how threat priorities may be affected. Plus 900 or so moves a match is just that much more content 😉

Every AI is fond of the R3 move, but I don't think I know of one that insists on it. If you just put some other reasonable move down, AFAIK they *all* agree that the 3x3 obsession is a bot-quirk that humans need not copy. So I am curious if this is just pro-meta to do that or if there's something I don't know about the most powerful AIs?
@Check_0014 күн бұрын
Perhaps the reason is that on an empty board bots do choose 3*3 as the strongest move to 4*4 and they never choose other reasonable moves because they lose just a bit. But humans rarely go 3*3 instantly and by the time they want to go for it, it's no longer recommended by a bot. Basically as long as there are AI moves on the board, they can quickly become not so AI if opponent chooses to play in an unusual manner.
@pi47953 күн бұрын
Yeah, it's like 0.1 point better than kakari, but before it was consider just bad. Now AI showed us that not only is playable but they actually prefer it, so it's normal for pros and amateurs alike to want to learn and use it

I’ve watched a lot of your videos; this is probably one of my faves
@dwyrin6 күн бұрын
any reason why?
@DaveScurlock2 күн бұрын
@@dwyrin There are several reasons, but I think it’s mainly because it was a positive lesson by way of example - you were pushing yourself to challenge your firmly entrenched behaviours and it was inspiring to watch you persevere. It was also a great demonstration of your values as a person and teacher; you could have given up on your intent for the game and the basics series generally to prioritise the win, but didn’t despite the temptation. I watch a lot of your content and your approach to this game validated why I subscribe to your teachings literally and figuratively.

Most probably it's about your channel and how algorithm works specifically for you. KZbin would have died if it had only pushed videos under 20 minutes long. Also for such kinds of video, I don't quite see who they can be recommended to. It's quite specific so..

nah, not just for me. spiffing brit did a fantastic video last year on how to kill a youtube video. its no longer simply more views get more views. its now all about engagement and view duration. these are the metrics that determine if a video succeeds or fails on the entire platform.

Actually I mostly watch "long" videos (30+ min.), and YT tend to suggest such videos to me. So it seems the algorithm take several parameters in account. But... it's just a hunch.

I watch 85% long videos. And mostly analysis things like EFAP and similar humourous or informative review or discussion videos. I find the concise way you fast forward and put on some chill tunes and come back for the analysis, combined with the long form video was really great. And I like that I'm starting to notice your opponents failures, before you even mention them. Thank for the delightfully long video.
