gotta run it in float mode , and the problem with the chains is that will lift your gravel when it breaks through the thin layer of ice or you spin the tires , so when you plow again well you will have a lot of gravel

I ALWAYS use NON-OXYGENATED gas for ALL my small engines (summer or winter engines). Corn-based gas is HORRIBLE for any small engine.
@HardyBrothersOutdoors
@HardyBrothersOutdoors 18 күн бұрын
Is that the gas you buy in cans from the store? I've not tried that but now try to treat all the gas I purchase to avoid these issues. That said, I'm due to just replace this carb on the splitter to see if I can improve the performance... I picked up a replacement carb over a year ago for like $14 and will do a full maintenance overhaul of the splitter when I replace that... change oil, filters, hydraulic fluid and filters, plugs and air filter. I'm overdue for much of this maintenance. Now if I could only find a way to speed up the cycle time or get a 4 way splitter to fit it.

How do you keep coyotes and foxes from taking over these rabbit habitats?
@HardyBrothersOutdoors
@HardyBrothersOutdoors 19 күн бұрын
Addressing predators is an issue that we have regardless of the habitat improvements... in the past we have done some trapping and some coyote hunting but it's not something we've spent a ton of time doing. The most important thing we had learned about the brush piles was to keep them within 50-75 feet of one another so a rabbit could dart from one to the other if needed. We don't see many foxes in the area but the coyotes are prevalent in the area and a situation we've learned that while you kill off local packs but they will be replaced by transient coyotes who travel looking for open territories to occupy. So I guess the shorter answer is we have not done anything specific other than spacing but do see an increased population of rabbits who now have dense brush piles vs nothing. Josh

thoes look like 3x4 bails so Loosely Packed Hay: With a density of approximately 9 pounds per cubic foot: Weight = Volume (cubic feet) × Density (lbs/cu ft) Weight = 28 cu ft × 9 lbs/cu ft = 252 pounds Tightly Packed Hay: With a density of approximately 12 pounds per cubic foot: Weight = Volume (cubic feet) × Density (lbs/cu ft) Weight = 28 cu ft × 12 lbs/cu ft = 336 pounds So, for a round bale of hay with a volume of 28 cubic feet: Loosely packed, it would weigh around 252 pounds. My 2nd year with same splitter some years ago, wouldn’t start. I checked reviews on Tractor Supply and many were stating water. I had water in spark plug chamber, in carb bowl. The problem was when it rained water seeped in at top of air filter rod and wing nut. I keep it covered now when not in use as well as I never run ethanol in any small engines, years later I have another issue I am working on and that is it won’t stay running full throttle without choke partly on, without choke with no throttle it stays running. Just don’t want to take carb off just yet but will soon. Thanks for video it will help when I get ready to clean mine.

As far as I'm concerned your not farmers and you don't use the farm for agriculture commodities and you don't have a schedule F income tax so you should have to pay full amount
@HardyBrothersOutdoors
@HardyBrothersOutdoors Ай бұрын
Well, i guess it's a good thing your opinion means nothing in the matter and only reflects your clear and obvious lack of understanding of how these things work, but wow, thanks so much for sharing it.... To be clear, because we have acres of timber, we harvest timber, and we sat down with our local county auditor and he agreed and approved our land for CAUV, which it was already under due to the prior farm, the crop just changed to timber from livestock. Also, I have spent over 100 hours walking 65 acres of hills spraying invasive plants to improve the oak regeneration which supports my timber futures, etc... You really should improve your attitude and maybe ask some questions versus spew your uninformed opinions on our channel. Take a hike, clown! 🤡

@HardyBrothersOutdoors well since I'm a farmer I think I know a hell of a lot more about it than you do about trying to make a living off the the farm than you do so why should you get the tax breaks that farmers do just so you can have a recreational property just to hunt on and like I said before if you before until you can show a schedule F tax return you shouldn't get a CAUV exemption
@HardyBrothersOutdoors
@HardyBrothersOutdoors Ай бұрын
@@jamesmcclanahan4091 well first off, thank you for the farming that you do, the more I learn about it the more I realize just how difficult it is. That said, Timber is a crop as determined by the state of Ohio, this property is recreational now but in 6 years will be my primary residence for retirement and I will broaden the farming activities I am able to maintain on a daily basis. Because timber is not harvested annually. If I'm not mistaken, the Schedule F is a federal form and I do not get any federal tax reductions nor do I have a farming tax exempt status, so this is merely a discount on my state taxes on my land, which I am maintaining and working a timber plan to continue to improve the stand. Again, thank you for your opinion, but I am putting in the work to maintain my CAUV discount, improve my land, and prepare the timber for future harvest so everything I am doing is approved, above board, and available to anyone willing to put in the work and meet the requirements the government has set forth. Additionally, while this may have been the only video you watched, you may not realized that we have been working to improve over 80 acres of reclaimed strip mine which is currently covered in invasives and have received 3 conservation awards, so our land is way more than just hunting land... All the best and thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts.

I tried Botantical Rodent Repellent. Guaranteed. DOES NOTHING. The rats actually torew the bags apart and used them to make new nests in my skidsteer. It is not opperable currently due to them chewing wires somewhere. I took an old ice chest and taped the lid and cut a 3 inch hole in the end/ Put lots of rat poison in it. Each day it is empty. They are hungry and lots of them apparently. a large bucket is $90 and I'll keep buying it until they stop eating it. (Also used Tom Cat bait. Left the lid off the bucket and it was empty next day.) I may try the ammonia inside the skid steer to keep it safe.

The R14 is more of an all purpose tire bs the industrial R4. The higher stance will also allow clearance if you ever want to add the newly released midmount mower.
