their is a mod on nexus mods that disabled compiling shaders. modders have found compiling shaders for this game has no effect and has to be a left in by the devs

I'm making a performance mod called "S2 Essentials" on Nexus, I had two Deck users who used it that said their framerate is much better. If you wanna try it out you can, the performance on the Deck is really really awful tbh so its worth a try.

Even RTX 4090 is struggling with this poorly optimized game. This is not a game for Steamdeck. A handheld like Steamdeck is suitable for Japanese RPG games like Persona 5, Shin Megami Tensai V, and older games like Witcher 3, Elden Ring. It's also awesome for games like Hades.
